Have a bud who lives in Grand Forks, ND. Not into the craft scene. His go to is Busch. He would like to try and explore some craft breweries in Grand Forks. Im out in California so I have no clue how the beers are in and around GF. I told him to try some hoppy lagers and pils to start off. He would like to try some ipa's. He did try some before and didnt like them. Have no idea what he tried. Maybe steer him into some good citrusy west coast and some hazy's. Maybe the ipa's he had wre to bitter for his taste? Maybe a good store with lots of cans? Does Grand Forks get any Toppling Goliath, Surly, 3 Floyds or anything from Chicago area?
I’m not sure what’s in GF, but have him check if Drekker or Junkyard distro in the GF/EGF areas. Drekker is out of Fargo ND & Junkyard in Moorhead MN, (he may have to go to East Grand Forks for the Junkyard). Those are the 2 best breweries in that area. he might also be able to get Surly & other MN metro beers in EGF.
Happy Harrys has a lot of beer, including Drekker and Surly. Rhombus Guys is cool for beer and pizza. JL Beers has a good tap list and an ok burger. I go here more often than Rhombus Guys
Half Brothers is my preferred stop in Grand Forks usually although Rhombus is ok too..I usually hit both as they are two blocks apart...both should have a variety of decent offerings and as noted JL Beers has a bunch of craft taps and Cheerful Harry's is the place for off sale. There is also a decent craft beer bar in between Half Brothers and Rhombus that I can't remember the name of...
