Grand Rapids/Big Rapids Vacation.

    Have done my minor research on area for beer: hop cat, founders brewing, brewery vivant, Crankers, but what am i missing?. i need bottle shops around Founders or in Big Rapids where i can get some good beers from the midwest. Im from California so basically anything indigenous to my surroundings will be newish to me. THROW ME A BONE HERE!!!!!

    GR -- Martha's Vineyard, Smitty's, Art of the Table (all three are bottle shops)
    -- Green Well, Pyramid Scheme, Logan's Alley (all three are cool places to have a pint)

    Big Rapids -- Grunst Bros (bottle shop)
    -- Gypsy Nickel, Pizza King (pint places)

    Crankers makes some good beers. The head brewer, Adam, is a good guy. Worth a stop if you are in Big Rapids.

    Yeah, Adam and Aaron (the assistant brewer) are great guys and make very good beer. Go to Cranker's for sure!

    Founders, Vivant and HopCat are all of course musts. I highly recommend Vivant's truffle fries, much better than HopCat's crack fries IMO. Perrin is a must hit. Their Rye Wine is delicious. Grand Rapids Brewing Company is worth checking out, as is The B.O.B.
