    Hello,

I just moved to the Grand Rapids area, Hudsonville specifically, from Chicago. I was wondering if there are any bottle share groups or places around the area. I have a ton of bottles that need to be drank. Also, any recs on beer stores and bars would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Welcome to Michigan. I live 75 miles away so I can't help much, but when I traveled to GR for business before retiring I always tried to stop at Siciliano's out on the west side of town for bottles/cans (always a lot of singles). Nowadays the Horrock's market on the south side is popular for bottles/cans, and they have a 'tavern' there with always a nice tap list. You can get growlers, howlers to go. If that Horrock's is like mine, you can take bottles (not cans) from any 4/6 pack on the shelf to build your own mixed pack (or just one or two bottles of that's all you want). There's a fairly new Total Wine way down on the southeast side of town (actually Kentwood), but I haven't been there to see if they are upholding the thing that they are 'famous' for -- out-dated beer. There are a few other bottle shops with a good reputation but I haven't visited them.

For drinking places, you have to go to HopCat at some point for that experience. Drinking at any of the breweries will always get you good beer, at least no clunkers as far as I'm aware.

Rishi's on 28th Street is a great bottle shop. D. Schuler's on 44th Street is a solid bottle shop that is closer toward Hudsonville. Papagoose hit on the best bottle shops.

btw, if you like Bourbon County, you better go back to Chicago. It's slim pickin' in Michigan.
