Dirtwolf for sure. Tons of grapefruit as soon as you open the bottle.
I had a fresh Evil Twin Femme Fatale Brett and damn if it didn't taste like grapefruit juice!
The first time I had Founders Reds Rye on tap I just gulped it down and loved the grapefruit flavor. But I have also had it in a bottle and I didn't get the same grapefruit flavor. Maybe the bottle wasn't as fresh.
Lol, Rubber bands also.
I just saw that Abita has one that is specifically a Grapefruit IPA, its called Abita Grapefruit Harvest IPA, I haven't tried it but it did look tempting. I think the IPA from Sweetwater, (yellow packaging)has a very strong Grapefruit component and truly enjoyable.
Snipes Mountain Buckaroo...pretty much a hoppy grapefruit juice...actually pretty tasty though.
Avery Maharajah. First time I had it, new to craft beer, I wondered why they put grapefruit juice in it.---But I liked it.
Agreed.Having one right now.Cheers!
For those in the SE, I would try Olde Hickory Redeemer.
Try Bitter Valentine brewed by Ale Werks out if Williamsburg VA
Westbrook Citrus Ninja
NoDa Hop Drop n Roll
I had it last night and didn't really taste the grapefruit till the end and it sat pretty heavy on the palette.
Cigar City Humidor IPA. Very dry from the cedar, but very heavy on the grapefruit. I didn't like the first one I tried, but it has really grown on me.
Or shower curtain!
permanent funeral was citrus all over the place to me
Hop Valley - Citrus Mistress
Has grapefruit rine in the beer. very good
I gotta go with Night Shift's Jojo here.
I'm not sure how this beer has such a low rating(83)....
Tasted like someone soaked this beer on pure grapefruit rind for about a year, then hopped the shit out of it.
grapefruit flavor.... it seems to frequently elude me. I LOVE grapefruity hops.... love love love. The citrus + bitter is super addictive.
That being said, some of the brews mentioned above I've had, and didn't find them grapefruity at all. (Of course, I haven't had the opportunity to taste all of the above... maybe 60%) maybe my tongue is defective
I'll say sucks and Columbus IPA. (I remain envious of all resident Ohioans.) To date, those are the only 2 that have been very citrus forward to my palate.
Anyone feel like Sucks has some grapefruit notes? It's certainly a fruit bomb in general.
Ska Modus Hoperandi,
Bells Two Hearted,
For a beer with hops that give off a grapefruit taste, this is tops for me:
for a beer in a category I'd call "other" this was an interesting pint:
This, Finest Kind is super grapefruit heavy.....love it.
Nugget Nectar grapefruit? Not really, it's more tropical.
One of the best beers I've had in the past 6 months. I certainly hope that Westbrook continues to make it.
When its fresh, Columbus Brewing IPA is straight grapefruit. I get a ton of Grapefruit out of Jai Alai when its fresh as well. Permanent Funeral by 3Floyds is pretty much double ZD.
Citrus Ninja is the best I've had.
grapefruit sculpin should be in bottles by summertime. its really great stuff. super balanced, yet still heavy grapefruit. if that makes any sense....
Is Harlen IPA brewed with grapefruit or does the flavor come from the hops?
That's one of my Westbrook favorites! It's a seasonal beer that should be back later this summer.
Stochasticity Project Grapefruit Slam IPA. It's more than just in the name
Abita Brewing Grapefruit Harvest IPA I thought had a huge grapefruit taste. I really liked it.
Im pretty sure its from the hops which is insane...someone correct me if im wrong
Abita Grapefruit Harvest IPA
Founders Double Trouble
This is exactly what I came in here to post. I hope to have the opportunity to drink this beer again fresh sometime soon.
I know someone mentioned the Citra PA from OddSide but I'm going to throw out their Instigator IPA out there too, it's almost identical in profile to the Citra, but with a MUCH hoppier finish. Wish it would of had a summer release rather than mid-winter/early spring.
No one replied to SUCKS. I can taste a lot of grapefruit in this one, it never lets you down.
