i want to run my Simcoe pale through grapefruit but I'm not sure if I should just put pulp in or peel and all. Any suggestions?

probably doesn't matter with grapefruit...ph is so low...do you lke the pith? : )

randalls are great for just about anything...almost : )

I'd do 1/4 GF of pith, 1/4 GF of flesh and a few/small amount- grinds of the peel mixed in with an OZ or two of Galaxy hops in the hop rocket.

I've had good luck adding zest to the keg/secondary if you want to avoid the Randal. The ripe/over ripe zest has a more orange flavor/aroma. I stick to the yellowest zest avoiding the Orange/ruby zest.

I haven't tried it, but I would think grapefruit pulp in a Randal would either clog it or be pushed through, rather than staying put as a bed for the beer to run through.

Thanks all. Going to add whole leaf Simcoe hops as it's made with Simcoe. I will try both pulp and a little pith. Can always add or remove.

Good call with the Simcoe...but tis easier to add than remove any ingredient (without blending)...dilution is not always the solution : )
