You should look at the score differences for the new batch of Phenomenology of Spirit - one of the better wild beers, IMHO.

Small beer store in Woodstock, Vt near work. It was $14.99 I think? It was the first time I'd seen it in stores, didn't seem too bad...what does it cost up at the brewery when you guys have it?

Its listed on HF's website at $12. I can't wait to get a couple of bottles of this.

To this point, I started a thread yesterday trying to get BA to create a new beer entry for the 2013 Phenomenology of Spirit, since in my opinion this is clearly a different beer worthy of a separate entry... what with the coolship and 100% spontaneuous fermentation and all. I was told not to do so.

Do you think you can weigh in here? It seems to make sense that the new Phenomenology should be reviewed apart from the older version(s) which were not run through the coolship.

I had a bottle last night. I enjoyed it. Easy drinker with sour notes and interesting and unique funk and flavor. Definitely worth a try.

I thought it was quite nice fresh, but I'm certainly throwing my other one in the cellar to see what the brett does.

There is a fair amount of bottle variation in the arctic saison. At first I thought it was age, but after having three bottles, the first and third were awesome, but the second not so much. Two were fantastic, earthy, spicy and lemon tart finish, while the third was not as good, with a more dry and barny finish. Eenie, meenie, miney, mo

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tasted like HF Arthur with Brett. Nice and tart with a hint of funk (i'd already had a few a few at that point, so not sure how much my opinion is worth). Still have a few bottles sitting in my fridge to pop soon.

Would love to let it age, but that is nearly impossible to do correctly in my fourth floor apartment...

What's the deal with this beer, is it aged on icebergs and polar bears or what?

I believe it was brewed @ Anchorage Brewing in Alaska. So... almost Arctic.
