Picked up their Irish Stout and Retro IPA after work today. The Retro was pretty good, but a little heavy on the crystal. Malt and hops fought on the tongue and hops won, in a nice way. Kind of like an English IPA with American hops, very old school. There was some oxidation evident. My wife will critique the stout. Overall, a promising start.

Other opinions? I'm astonished at the tiny size of their 'brewhouse' (check their website http://www.gratefulhandsbrewing.com/apps/photos/) - my homebrew setup has almost the same capacity, though I don't push it to the limit like they do.

Remember hearing about this place back in November, December? Just knew about the only being open the second Saturday of the week thing - good to see they're sending out bottles!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ricky last weekend and checked out the brewery. I've had both Spare Change (Black IPA) and Mud Season (Brown DIPA). I enjoyed both; not mind blowing but totally worth the 6(ish?) for a bomber. I got a chance to taste his Irish Red too, which was actually pretty good - and I generally find the style bland.

Overall, I'm pleased to have a new little brewery in my town, that is putting out some good beer. Should now be able to get it at Hunger Mountain.

I heard they were going to be bottling soon, but wasn't sure when. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to pop down to Hunger Mountain and try to pick some up!

I'm happy to be sippin on a Mud Season right now. An enjoyable brew for sure. Purchased today at Hunger Mountain. They had the shelves stocked big time! Gotta love Fridays!

Yep, there was a ton of bottles at Hunger Mountain today. I grabbed the Irish Stout, as much as I love a big, chewy American Imperial, I'm just as much a sucker for a smooth, dry stout. Might have to crack this one tonight :grinning:

How was the Irish stout? Pretty smooth? Whenever I think Irish stout, Victory's Donnybrook is the first to come to mind.

Pretty smooth. Nice and roasty, definitely sessionable. I enjoyed it for sure.
