This Saturday May 31 Grayslake is hosting a beer fest. Wondering who is attending and if there is a actual beer list from the breweries going to be there. Cheers!

I'm going and should be a great time  I'm not sure if there is a tap list, but I think it tells which breweries with be there. Should be fun stuff.

I knew the site had the breweries listed was more curious on what the breweries would be offering/showcasing.

a buddy of mine took over there as a head brewer around march last year and while it took some time and convincing, has since either improved their previous recipies or phased some out. their previous stuff was pretty bad from what i understand but has since made some big improvements and putting out some pretty solid beer

[email protected] see if they'll respond.

IIRC, last year most of the beers were supplied and poured by distributors, so figure to see what's on shelves now. Maybe in a few years they'll start attracting those surprise specials like the Great Taste.

Their IPA and session Pale are pretty good. I'll probably fill a growler with the session pretty soon.

First "Slapshot" then "Light the Lamp" Brewery. Sounds like very temporary topical brewery names.

I wonder what these breweries would have called themselves during the 90's when the Bulls were racking 3-peats.

Tighthead/Mundelein has a brewfest the following weekend as well. That one is entering year three and there might be better pours at that one since Tighthead is directly involved.

To be honest, it was mainly all beers you can find on the shelf. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to try some beers I was skeptical of buying in which I may buy in the near future. That being said, it was not worth the steep price of admission they were selling.

I completely agree, was a nice setup and all though the offerings were nothing to write home about!!!

That's the way it looked to me too. Maybe the organizers will hear this and make adjustments? That fest is literally around the corner from my house and if it was worthwhile I probably wouldn't hesitate to attend.
