    Hi everyone,

I'll be in Great Barrington, MA area this weekend with some friends. Saturday through Sunday. Any breweries or bars in the area that we should check out?

    Thanks!

Gypsy Joynt is a cool spot for lunch. Moe's up the road in Lee is a good bar. If you want to do a nice dinner, Allium is a good spot.

Big Elm Brewery, down RT 7 in Sheffield, about 5 miles (?) south, is open on Saturdays for tastings/tours.

I second Moe's in Lee....one of the better craft beer bars in the western side of the state AND they have their own craft beer store next door.

    I didn't like it.

In addition to Moe's in Lee, Brava in Lenox is about the same driving distance. Small-ish but well curated selection. The food there is excellent. Tapas-like.

I fourth Moe's, great place. You can get some decent beers at the Red Lion and it's a fun place to people watch. I climbed Monument Mountain with the kids last week and it is a must if you are into that type of things. No young kids though, as the peak can be dangerous.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the input. I expect us to end up at Moe's and Big Elm Brewery, if time allows.

Side note, we are definitely planning on hiking during the day. Monument Mountain looks solid. Mt. Alander also, although I know it's a little further. Also was checking out Bash Bish falls and Race Brook falls.
