people are drinking a lot more craft beer, and groceries stores are picking up on it on the trend which is great for consumers, making it easy to find beer you actually are interested in drinking rather than the rows and rows of neatly organized BMC's

    Great thread OP.

I love it too with fresh bottles, low price, and convenience of a grocery store for other items as well. Plus, anything that helps reduce dependence on the mom and pop places that require going out of one's way is a plus for me. Tired of the special trips, pointless conversations, higher prices, all for the same beer.

The Whole Foods in Richmond has an amazing selection. They had three of Off Color's beers recently!

i live in a state where liquor has to be sold in a liquor store or pub (unless 4.0 by volume, 3.2 by weight ) and I have been to states MI, WI were this is not the case. All i can say is I like having it the way we do. The variety is better. There may be exceptions i have not confronted as of yet but, to me it just seems better to have FOOD and Grocery and Beer separate .

What beer, where? Best if everyone stay where they are. You won't find any beer in Seattle:wink:

I absolutely love wegmans! It has really expanded my craft tastes and knowledge. I can get jai alai at will and they still have FBS in stock. Win win!

The Publix stores in my area (Birmingham, AL) have an incredibly pedestrian selection. Piggly Wiggly and Western supermarkets are doing way better at craft beer than Publix.

Whole Foods has a good selection, but Earth Fare is limited, and neither store has management who are willing to embrace growlers, so it's just as well the local booze shops are doing so well at selling growlers to go.

It gave me lot more opportunity to Drain Pour. Plus my new friends thought it was cool. My old friends laughed when I poured out a Bud.
