I love Yeti. It took about a year for me to work through a 1/2 barrel of Espresso Yeti and it tasted every bit as good at the end as it did in the beginning. I was sad when it was gone, but fortunately I was able to replace it with an Oak Aged Yeti keg.

Agreed. Oak Aged just uses oak chips, not actual bourbon/whiskey. The BA version is said to use Stranaham's, but it's never been nailed down. It is though one of the best beers I've ever had in my life.

The Oak Aged Yeti is NOT barrel aged. It is just aged with oak chips. There is no bourbon or whiskey anything going on here. Barrel Aged Yeti is aged in whiskey barrels. The Oak Aged Yetis is a 22oz bottle and generally readily available in states where it is sold.

The Bourbon Barrel Aged version comes out once in a blue moon, is very limited, in 750ml bottles, and costs $30 (at least the last instance was $30). The last time I got a bottle of the Barrel Aged it was bottle #xxx of 1104 from the '09 vintage.

I don't know how this hasn't been nailed down. It says so right in the advertisement posted above, from Great Divide. Seems pretty nailed down to me.

Love the Yeti - pretty much all of them, although I definitely like Espresso the least.
Normal 'ol Yeti might be my overall favorite. Belgian Yeti sometimes flies under the radar but is nearly as good.

Oh yeah - the BA Yeti is still using Stranahan's. They can't advertise it that way anymore (it has to do with a deal with Stranahan's & Breckenridge, right down the street) but it's still using them...at least it was last year. Lots of CO brewers still use Stranny barrels, but they just can't advertise it.

Cool thanks for clearing that up. I never realized they used chips in the 22 oz version. Interesting. Crazy that the larger version costs 30 bucks, but the time and effort involved for the brewery cant' be small either. I'm sure its a great beer. Maybe one of these days.

-True, it seems like everyone in Colorado has Stranahan barrels now. I really do enjoy the bourbon and most beers that use them though. I think you can even get them on the homebrewer level if you wanted to.

There's a bottle of Espresso Yeti in my copper drain on the other side of the roof if you want it. Totally free and you'll probably break bones or die trying to reach it, but meh. It was on the window sill when I was pulling down the storm windows a few years ago and fell out.

EDIT: Forgot my main point; had them all. GD is my favorite brewery. They're all fantastic, but the Belgian Yeti is hit or miss.

Real good. As a matter of fact in another thread I put it in my Top 5 favorite beers in 2012.

Earlier this week I had an Espresso Yeti from the January 2012 batch. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the coffee flavor held up. The coffee wasn't fresh-beer strong, but it was there, and it was delicious.

I've had Oak Aged and regular Yeti and both have been amazing. I want to try all the Yetis. I can't imagine how any of them could be bad

All are great, but chocolate is my favorite...something about the cayenne pepper just makes it perfect.

There are multiple "oak aged" versions of Yeti that come in 22oz bombers and are aged on oak chips. The $30 one is a barrel aged version in a 750ml bottle with a light blue label. Was lucky to pick up one barrel aged yeti this year... still in my cellar.

I believe I've had all Yeti versions... and the Belgian is my fav.
