Saw a local distributor with a case of these. Didn't know much about it other than seeing it on the Top 250 list. Profile says it's available in Spring. Special batch? Straggler? Avoid? How is trade interest for this when it gets released? (haven't been into trading long enough to know).

    Thanks,
    Al

fixed that for you. i think that beer dropped in march, so it's a dinosaur by IPA standards.

I'd very interested in the taste, but it doesn't seem like a DIPA that would hold up well. I can't wait for the new name and for it to come out again next year, although I liked the name just fine. :-(

    To the OP, avoid it.

@c64, ask and you shall receive -- I drank this tonight (stamp says enjoy before 05/01/13)

Why? I was packing a box to send (about 2 hours ago, having not seen BA tonight yet), and looking for extras, I came across a couple old Alchemy's. Thought I'd better taste one for safety before deciding whether or not to send the other. Decided against. When I drank the other 2 from this 4pk earlier this year, I did not really enjoy it. Tonight, 6 months later, there is literally no nose at all. Carb and mouthfeel are still reasonably the same. Taste is like a stale Nugget Nectar with lemon juice added, and the alcohol hotness is enhanced. I drank it just the same, but would not recommend anyone purchasing 8-month old Alchemy. Cheers.

Thank you for your feedback sir, I've had a few bottles of year old Great Lakes Monster and that has oddly aged well enough, but I will make sure there isnt any forgotten Alchemy Hour in the cellar!
