Yeah I will definitely stop by, I have never been to this fest but it looks like a lot of good brewers will be there.
good times yesterday at the fest! Best find was at 3pm. Goose Island was pouring a secret keg of Cherry Rye! Got 2 pours! Guy was standing at the side of the trailer and had a keg with a picnic tap on it.
FFF when things were winding down, were tapped out. The guy pulled out three bottles of Dreadnought and poured those. I got half a pint worth. My favorite tent had to be Green Flash. They had Imperial IPA on tap, the guy manning the booth was absolutely HAMMERED. He was distracted by two girls with huge winnebagos, and I got tired of waiting. I pulled about 4 beers for myself and the folks waiting in line with me. One girl I handed a beer to said, "Gee, if I had bigger tits, I would have gotten better service." Fun time. The best beer I had was right at the start of the fest, Miller Coors had their folks from their experimental lab there. They had a bourbon barrel aged brew that had been sitting in the barrel for 2-1/2 years. It was freaking delicious. Strong turn out, weather was fantastic. Good time.
Bumping this again. Anybody going next weekend (9/13/14)? Last year was my first one & I had a blast. As a FIB, any excuse to drink NG on tap, outside at a zoo is a win-win.
