Great Lakes Brewing Eyeing Big Moves

Not sure it’s throwing around money. Their property in the flats probably appreciated since purchase since more residential properties are popping up there. Plus they are space constrained at the west 25th location with somewhat limited access for big rigs. Nowhere to line up if shipping or receiving gets backed up.

The Avon location is close to home for me so I know the area well. Unlike Fat Heads, both streets they would build on are single lane - to congestion is already an issue. Engle road (Fat Heads) was already two lanes each way with a turning lane from the nearest highway exit to the facility so ready made for the volume of the new business. One of the reasons I like to stop there is the ease of getting in and out. The current Great Lakes location is often a pain to get to and park.

Hoping to see them build the new facility (hopefully with expanding the road to 2+ lanes each way first) and continue the pub on west 25th. It’s a good place to take out-of-towners
