Has Chillwave made it to NC, especially the Wilmington area? I'm in the N. Myrtle Beach area of SC and would like to get a hold of some.

They just announced today that they'll be launching in Wilmington next week, so there's a possibility. I'll see if I can get more info for you on Chillwave specifically.

Greensboro has it. Check Beermenus.com for your area.

I just got word back that, unfortunately, there will not be any Chillwave sent to the Wilmington area. Rye of the Tiger will be the first seasonal available out that way.

Well that sucks, thanks for looking into it. I actually saw on a couple Wilmington stores sites that they were having Great Lakes nights, thought I could score some.

Picked up some at Bestway in Greensboro on Saturday. It didn't appear like they had a whole lot, though.

Where at you in WNC that Great Lakes isn't in your market? Great Lakes has been back in Hickory for a little while now, though don't know if Chillwave hit or not.

Asheville. Hasn't been here or surrounding areas for a little over a year now. It was my understanding that the closest you can find it is in Charlotte. Luckily, I had a friend pick me up a 4-pack of Chillwave when he was out in the triangle this past weekend. I'd thought it was very good, not great when I had it on draft last year but this year's in the bottle is stellar.

Don't know about Chillwave, but Hickory has Great Lakes including Blackout Stout. Its at least closer to you than Charlotte is

I straight up didn't like Chillwave last year, but I agree the bottles I've had have tasted great so far this year. It's selling like hotcakes here in the Triangle.

Ridiculous. Next you'll be telling me you can get Troeg's and DuClaw as well. Distributors just seem to hate Asheville. Jealousy I suppose.

Probably not wanting the uphill battle of competing with allegiance to local beer. Also, could be slack distributors that have access, but are "slow"on the draw.
