Enjoying a Christmas Ale I picked up last month and noticed it has a best by date of 12/14. This can't be right, can it? The GLBC site lists the shelf life as 120 days. This date implies freshness for about a month. Anyone else see this or can confirm if this is accurate?

That'd mean the beer was bottled mid-August, which, given how early seasonal beers seem to be getting released, seems totally possible.

Sounds like an error.. even Blackout Stout doesn't have a best before date that far away.. unless this year they're giving Christmas Ale a new shelf life or something which wouldn't make sense..

    Sorry, meant 12/14/2012, not 12/2014.
