Is it just me or is this year's lake Erie monster extra special

I thought it was really good, as usual.

I don't like Great Lakes offering, just never been fond of their selection. With the exception by a landslide Erie Monster, which is outstanding, surely one of my favorite currently available, at least from those distributed here in WI. Just hands down GL best beer I've tried thus far!!!

Extra bitter. And I loved it. In terms of Pennsylvania's horrid beer prices, I love the <$10 price on a four pack of the Erie Monster as well.

You don't like their selection? Great Lakes makes just about every beer style possible!

To the OP: I've always thought Erie Monster is a solid offering from GL. This year's has not struck as any different than past vintages.

I've had most of GL offerings but not the monster. I enjoy Edmund Fitz, Dortmunder Gold, Eliot Ness and Commodore Perry so I'll have to keep my eye out for this!

Had it on tap the other night and yes, it is extra special.

Definitely a tasty release. I'm not huge on their everyday line (with the exception of Ed Fitz, which happens to be one of the finest porters on Earth,) but their seasonal four-packs never disappoint.

    I thought it tasted like a 2X Commodore Perry---although that's not a bad thing.

I thought it was fantastic - I just wish that one of my bottles didn't have a hole in the cap.

I had it this year for the first time, and thought it was a solid and fantasic DIPA. Highly recommended.

Fantastic this year. I'm glad they have a "drink before" date in July. I won't even be tempted to save it. Have to drink it all now!

I had GL dortmunder gold, and haven't had one of their beers since. I see their DIPA all over the place, and based on the praise it's getting, I'll have to end my streak.

Its my favorite, for sure. This year is a bit more slick and fruity, and a bit less bitter.

    Yeah to
Yeah to me this years tastes a bit more tropical but still has that great dank smell. Not sure if it's actually difference in the beer or my taste

Plus one to that. IMO blackout stout, nosferatu, and Erie monster are world class
