Ramble on Rose

The Portland Rose Festival may look a little different this year, but we’ll be honoring this beloved institution with - what else? - a summery tart ale. In a tribute to our beloved city of roses, Ramble On Rose melds the sweet bite of raspberry with the light perfume of rose.

Jammy Pants (Cherry, Raspberry, Lime)

We are jamming out with another rendition of Jammy Pants. Just in time to quench your thirst in the hot summer days to come, this tart ale is packed with sweet cherry, zesty lime, and ripe raspberry. This beer would look exceptional poured in our new Character Teku that's dropping on Monday!







Double Strawberry Cheesecake
(8.5% abv) $22/4pack
Double Strawberry Cheesecake is a decadent addition to our shake series. Paint your palate with a dollop of strawberry, vanilla and milk sugar for a drinkable dessert paying homage to its namesake. *contains lactose

Juice Jr.

Masses of Mosaic hops impart subtle tropical notes in this classic hazy IPA. A fresh batch of our flagship, Juice Jr, is ready for porch-drinking season.

Aguas Frescas

Our favorite great-auntie Lou-Anne is taking a break from her usual baking madness and is serving up un refresco brimming with strawberry, hibiscus, and watermelon. This fruited sour's floral notes are balanced with a fruity sweetness suited for a mid-day pick me up.

Will of the Gods

If the Gods will, so will we! This dry-hopped Saison was brewed in collab with Little Beast Brewing and promises to pack an effervescent and complex punch with every sip. Orange and lemon peel lend a hand to elevate this crushable brew so it’s perfect for grillin’ and chillin’.

Upper Left Coast

A hefty smattering of Simcoe, Centennial, and Mosaic hops lend a hand in this West Coast IPA brewed in collaboration with our friends over at Ex Novo Brewing.



Common Sensory

Queue up our latest Common Sensory IGTV episode to get familiar with Unbeatable, a heavy-hitting barleywine with all the GN desserty goodness we brewed in collab with Casa Agria! Take a moment with Tom and Sam as they dive into how this pastry-inspired beverage came to be.

Upcoming Drops

Strawberry Shortcake

Cannonball! Jump in and let this tart ale's tidal waves of strawberry and vanilla crash over you (and anyone in your near vicinity).

Spineless

Drift through your day with this Hazy IPA afloat with a sessionable ocean of of Citra and Galaxy Hops. Ready for this jelly?

Sumomo
(8.5% abv) $20/4pack
Hakkiyoi! Momo’s back in the dohyō with a hefty double IPA. Sumomo is ready to knock you out with a wallop of Motueka and Galaxy hops.







Mosca
(5.1% abv) $18/4pack
We’re buzzin’ about this Mexican-style lager! Mosca was brewed with the traditional Michelada in mind, so of course, we had to spice it up! Along with Mosca, we’re dropping a brand new shirt, and a Moscalada kit that includes a bottle of mix and our signature Mosca Dust - a blend of Juice Jr. Chili powder, black lime powder, and kosher salt.





Pop-Up at Ballard

Tomorrow (6/26), Great Notion Ballard is playing host to Cookie’s Country Chicken!

In lieu of our usual sandwiches, Cookie's Country Chicken will be onsite with a selection from their delicious menu.

On offer will be chicken sando combos (regular or spicy), tendies, drumstick packs, and summer sides. Come by from 12-8 (or until we sell out) to get in on the chicken action!

CO / NJ Drops

Our brews have made a journey, all the way to Colorado and New Jersey for your enjoyment!

Some of our cans are already in the wild thanks to CSA, so keep your eyes peeled for some tasty beers near you!

Cerebral Brewing in Denver is hosting the “All Star Can Jam” event on July 10th at noon til when cans are sold out. This event will have cans from many different breweries from across the country, featuring IPAs and fruited sours. They'll have Fruit Monster, Jammy Pants and Cosmic Banditos from us.

Kane Brewing Distro in New Jersey also got a little drop - you’ll find Blueberry Muffin, Aguas Frescas, Jammy Pants, We’re Out Of Dynamite, Are We Safe in Here?, Oggy, Ramble On Rose, and Carnibaal in the mix. Look for some of these bangers to drink on the Jersey Shore this month!





Lenox Pop-up

Today, July 2nd from 12pm-10pm, our Ballard taproom is stoked to be hosting another kitchen takeover with Lenox!

Celebrating the rich history of soul food from the Latin Caribbean, we'll have sandwiches, bowls, and some yummy sides to choose from. Snag a bite and a refreshment with us this holiday weekend.



Taproom News

In case you missed the announcement earlier this week, we’re ecstatic to have all Great Notion taprooms now open for full-capacity seating! Indoor and outdoor seating is available on a first come first served basis, and you can even join us at the bar!





This Sunday, The 4th of July, please note that all of our Taprooms will be closed in observance of the holiday. Some things to note:

- All app orders placed on 7/3 and 7/4 will have pickup extended an extra day.

- Local delivery will not available on Sunday.

- Shipping orders will not be processed or delivered on Sunday or Monday.

- Customer Service will be out of the office on Sunday, and all inquiries will be responded to on Monday.

 

I know I'm old and a bit of a curmudgeon, but I cringe every time they refer to their beer as "bangers."

 

I just figure it's one more thing about GN that I'm incapable of understanding. Their vernacular does nothing for me, and I have a similar reaction to their beer. Not that it's bad (well, some of their insulin inducing pastry stouts are), but the hype and over the top fanboy reaction to their beer... I just don't get it. Did I mention that I'm old and a bit of s curmudgeon?

I'm happy to see them doing as well as they are. I just don't get the over the top appeal. The juice Sr. TIPA I tried yesterday was typical. Not a bad beer, but it was overly sweet and not the sort of beer I'm likely to ever order again.
