Timberbeast BA Beer

If you’ve been pining after our 2021 Timberbeast Barrel Aged Stout, come snag a 5oz pour at our taprooms in PDX and SEA when we tap a keg this Friday, 1/14 at 4pm PST!

This bottle was crafted for our Timberbeasts exclusively, so if you’re a Greenhorn, Brushhog, or Whistlepunk, this is your only chance to sip on this badass Stout. You can raise your rank on the app with purchases, can check-ins, and gameplay to climb your rank in the Timber Crew for more fun in 2022 and beyond!

The 2021 Timberbeast Beer is an Imperial Stout aged in Widow Jane bourbon barrels for over 20 months. It was then conditioned with an abundance of Madagascar vanilla and Coava Coffee’s Ethiopia blend coffee.

Epir Redrum

When the final rays of sun are vanquished by the inevitable night sky, this killer new take on Ripe takes its true form… The moonlight reveals Epir Redrum, a DIPA double-dry hopped with monstrous amounts of Citra hops and an 8.1% abv that could break even the most treacherous of curses.

Nox Illluminate
(5% abv) $15/4pack
We’re lighting up the darkness once more with Nox Illuminate! This Schwarzbier collab with our friends and neighbors at Wayfinder Beer makes its 2022 debut. This light-bodied black lager was brewed with Tettnanger hops to warm your bones, but is also refreshingly sessionable.

Food Updates

We've been hard at work bringing you even more delicious menu options and food pop-ups at our locations, so here's some staff picks for maximum taproom snackability:

NW: It's noodle time with Mama Lil's Mac and cheese packed with Mama Lil's peppers and topped with toasted panko. You can add fried chicken, bacon, or beyond crumbles to your heart's delight! Served with choice of salad or fries - did we mention we have a Caesar salad too?

Alberta: Grab a fresh Pretzel with Maldon sea salt flakes, served with house cheese whiz. Hungrier than that? Our Smashburger is packed with two Wagyu blend beef patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, house relish, iceberg, and comeback sauce on a sesame bun. Add Mama Lil's peppers, bacon, extra cheese, or sub for a beyond burger patty. This burgie is also available at NW.

Beaverton: Fuel up with a Turkey Bacon Chopped Salad! This feel-good selection offers romaine & iceberg, avocado, cucumbers, chickpeas, pepperoncini, turkey, bacon, swiss, and ranch dressing. We've also got a Caesar salad, a Pretzel, and Chili!

Georgetown: We often have food trucks coming through, and this Saturday, 1/15 we’re excited to welcome Kiss My Grits on from 12-4pm! Enjoy comfort food at its finest with Shrimp & Grits, Mac & Cheese with Pulled Pork & all the fixins, a Pulled Pork Sandwich, or some Fried Okra, and we’ll recommend the perfect pint to accompany your meal.

Ballard: We’ve got Burbs Burgers in the house every day from 12-9! Come on through for a Burbs classic burger on a local beef patty with all the fixin’s, a fried chicken sando or some chicken nuggies, hot dogs and so much more! You can wash it all down with a glass of your favorite Great Notion brew, of course. Burgers and beer: what could be better?

Timberbeast Update

Timberbeast gifts, and any orders placed for Timberbeast bottles, will need to be picked up by the end of the day Saturday, 1/22. If you have already made prior arrangements with us for pickup, don't worry, you're all set!

You may also now purchase up to 5 additional bottles in the app or in person at NW or Georgetown if you would like more at this time.

If you need to assign a proxy for either your bottle order or your gift, or you have any other questions, please feel free to reply directly here, and we'll be glad to help.

Year of the Tiger

In addition to all the wonderful beers coming next week, we're excited to highlight our upcoming collab, Year of the Tiger. Get ready to ring in the Lunar New Year with us and our friends at Portland Cà Phê!

You all know that here at GN, we love to partner with our friends and neighbors to bring us even closer as a community, and bring you some incredible collab beers.

This beast is no exception - we were psyched that Portland Cà Phê's owner, Kim, wanted to make a beer with us, because we seriously adore her coffee (which is 100% grown in the central highlands of Vietnam!). Kim loved the idea of making a coffee beer with us to celebrate the Lunar New Year, with 2022 being the Year of the Tiger. After long deliberation (and lots of sampling!) we all decided it would be exciting to pay homage to this delectable coconut cream she uses at her coffee shop - and thus, a sour coffee beer with coconut was born!

Year of the Tiger is coming at you next Friday, 1/28, just in time to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Ruby Jammin
(7% abv) $20/4pack
Whether you’re an Oregon or Washington local or have ever paid a visit, chances are, McMenamin's has cast a spell on your heart. To show our love for one of the PNW’s most beloved institutions, we created our magical collab, Ruby Jammin! We took McMenamin’s best selling Ruby Ale and dressed it up in our favorite Jammy Pants to conjure up a tart ale with bewitching flavors of raspberry, vanilla, and lime.

Juice Jr.
(6% abv) $18/4pack
It may be the little brother of one of our other GN flagships, but don’t let Juice Jr.’s name fool you - the only thing pint-sized about this beer is in ounces. Packed with Mosaic hops to invite subtle tropical notes into the mix, this is one hazy IPA not to be underestimated.

Frosty
(11.75% abv) $25/4pack
We can’t BEAR to think that it’s been over a year since we last dropped this polar beer! A classic at heart, Frosty is an Imperial Stout double-mashed with vanilla beans to keep things simple. If you’ve ever wanted to eat a cupcake piled high with icing on top of an iceberg, this one’s for you.

Groundhog Day
(8.3% abv) $21/4pack
To combat the monotony of cloudy winter skies and endless pandemic days, we’re brewing up a fresh batch of Groundhog Day like there’s no tomorrow. Watch out for that first sip of this double dry-hopped DIPA with Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Galaxy hops - it’s a doozy!

Google Pixel 6 Users, we are hard at work to fix the issue you are currently facing while using our app. After identifying the issue, we determined it will still take quite a bit of work on our end to fully resolve. We apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience in the meantime!

Alberta Beer

Over in our R&D brewery at Alberta, you know we love to explore new flavors and ingredients tied together in small batch brews. UBAE, our new Ube-inspired smoothie style beer, is the latest to emerge from the experimental brains of our brewers.

UBAE has a deep violet color with a dense pale lavender foam, a smooth luscious mouthfeel, and a sweet scent of breakfast cereal milk and vanilla custard. The mild acidity in this smoothie cuts through the richer flavors of ube, banana, and vanilla, while the plum and sour beer base create a mouthwatering sensation that refreshes you the more you drink. Also to note are hints of lemon custard.

You can snag your very own helping of UBAE at our Alberta taproom exclusively - $8 for 10.5oz - and experience its wonderfully drinkable ABV of 4.5%. *contains lactose*

LOL! So I just learned. The wife and I went to Magna Kusina tonight, and one of their listed cocktails had Ube in it. My wife (who is Filipino), told me just what you just said, almost word for word. I was intrigued, but not enough to order the cocktail (which looked like frothy, thick, light purple milkshake).

Good food at MK, but it's best to get one's drink on elsewhere. Welcome to the land of $9 twelve ounce cans of pFriem pils.
