Great Notion (2022)

It's always all a matter of perspective. I understand that. Compared to stadium or most airport prices, $9 a can doesn't seem all THAT awful. In my case however, I had just come from HOTD, where I paid $9.50 for a 12 ounce glass of Brandy Matt. After that, $9 for a can of pFriem pils seemed a tad high to me.

 

Granted, I've only been married for a bit over 6 years, but that's been long enough for me to learn that there are some things you just don't ask the wife to do.

So we enjoyed our meal at MK sans alcohol, and then made a beeline for one of our favorite watering holes downtown. It was all good.

 

LOL! Yes I do. And I freely admit that there was a time I might have indulged in such a subterfuge. However, these days I've been encouraged by the missus to avoid engaging in such shenanigans, especially if I wish to enjoy her company on date night.

 

I've always quite liked and admired Mrs. Vurt.

Mellifluous #6

Did you know that the number 6 appears often in nature? They say that 6 is the first perfect number, and we think Mellifluous #6 is just as harmonious as its numerological namesake. This beautiful balance of apricot, strawberry, passionfruit, pineapple, and banana brings all the smoothie thickness you’ve come to love in the 6th edition of our vibrant Mellifluous series.

Journey to Nectaron
(7% abv) $18/4pack
Amidst an interstellar journey, we find ourselves caught in a planetary orbit! After landing, we notice a hazy river flowing on the surface, with the essence of citrus and fruit in the air. Upon investigation of this clouded swill, we discover Nectaron and Citra hops abound- it’s an IPA! How did hops from New Zealand ended up way out here? After completing our study, we dubbed this alien elixir Journey to Nectaron.

Juice Reviver
(7.5% abv) $23/4pack
Our brewing wizards have conjured up the second batch of Juice Reviver. We channeled the powers of Nectaron and Citra, along with the funk of sour beer that was aged 12-24 months in wine barrels. This spellbinding concoction combines the juicy flavors of hazy IPA and the complexity of barrel-aged sour beer.

Taproom Updates


At our NW Taproom from 3-6pm Monday through Friday, we’ll be offering $4 pints of Lagers and $5 pints of single IPAs, plus take $1 off a select sour and stout, to be selected by our Taproom staff daily. Come hungry, because we’ll also be featuring daily food specials including a Caesar salad, fries, burgers, and more!

To celebrate the launch of this exciting new weekday event, many of our IPAs and Sours will now be available in larger pours than ever before, every day of the week.

We’re putting sunny vibes out there with the return of Double Berry Marshmallow Shake! Our OG Double Berry Shake was filled to the brim with Marionberry and vanilla, then fluffed up with marshmallow alongside a 9% abv for one delectable delight. Here’s to clear skies ahead!

Brujita

Gratia Clair Voy Ance’s cauldron is bubbling with a third batch of her enchanting libation, Brujita! This bewitching brew calls for Citra and Mosaic hops, black currant, blueberry, and vanilla, so take a sip and fall under the spell of its 8% abv.

Spring Break? More like Spring Breakfast!

Join us over at NW28th next week for brunchy beer and food specials to get each day going on a high note. This is your exclusive chance to try our new mimosa-inspired beer, Easy Like Sunday Morning, before it drops on Friday, 3/25!

In addition to our regular menu, this week we'll be offering the following food specials:
- Buttermilk waffle topped with a heap of house nuggets and herbed sausage gravy. $15

We are excited to expand the pilot of our rad beer subscription program! For the first time in GN history, these subscription boxes contain 12 unique single cans representing the best of the month’s drops, and will showcase a diverse range of styles, ABV, and flavor profiles.

Springtime and the livin’s easy! Our new mimosa-inspired sour, Easy Like Sunday Morning, is bubbling with a bottomless carafe of juicy tangerine, sweet Cara Cara orange, and zesty Mosaic hops. This brunch-time brew is sunshine in a glass, designed for warm weather sippin’, sunshine drippin’, and hammock sittin’ days (and for getting us through the last of this PNW rain)!

Blueberry Muffin

Consider your daylight saved - we’re springing forward with the return of one of our most muffiny favorites! Our OG Blueberry Muffin brew is back with all the juicy blueberry you love, and even better, you can enjoy it alongside its tasty namesake at Cascadia Coffee Pub. All week long, they’ll have our Blueberry Muffin tart ale in cans and on draft, complimented by their scratch-made blueberry muffins! We’re beary, berry ready.

Hedge Bier

Our newest batch of Hedge Bier is nothin’ to shrub at! Hedge Bier is a dry-hopped West-Coast-style pilsner with a rotating selection of hops, this time with a garden of Strata and Riwaka hops. This beer is best enjoyed in plenty of sunlight.

Mango JB

Mortimer Jr.’s clairvoyance predicts that you’ll be entranced by the marvelous magic of Mango JB! This whimsical DIPA merges masses of Mango and honey, conjuring up magnificent tropical notes by virtue of Mosaic hops.

Concept: Juice Jr. is one of our best examples of the style and what our house yeast can do, and displays the best of what Mosaic hops are capable of adding to a beer and why we use it so frequently. We get maximum tropical and citrus flavors derived from hops in a dry and sessionable presentation.

Double Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake - Fruited Sour
