Great Notion will be at Seattle Scotch and Beer Fest on April 15-16! With 50+ options from some incredible brewing teams on tap, you can snag some fresh GN brews, while knowing there will be something for everyone.

Seattle Scotch & Beer Fest is a fundraising event for Youth Experiential Training Institute (Y.E.T.I)… just by buying your ticket you are benefiting this amazing organization. The Youth Experiential Training Institute (Y.E.T.I) uses the outdoors as a tool to create meaningful, adventure-based experiences for students aged 5 to 18 in South King County from diverse ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Y.E.T.I is a non-profit organization that helps its students realize their full potential by pushing them to step out of their comfort zone to reach peaks they never thought possible.











Mandala - Hazy IPA

Mandala is a flagship GN hazy IPA that showcases the dank aromas of Strata, and the complexity of the Southern Hemisphere Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops.

Triple Dank Shark - Hazy Triple IPA
Drop Date: 4/13/2022 / Price: $23/4pack / ABV: 10%
Triple Dank Shark celebrates the legend of Party Wave Dave, brewed with Strata, Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Galaxy hops. This hazy Triple IPA was inspired by the well received Double Dank Shake we brewed with Alvarado Street Brewery.
*There are no terpenes in this beer.

Aura - Hazy IPA
Drop Date: 4/15/2022 / Price: $19/4pack / ABV: 7.2%
Aura is a hazy IPA that focuses on experimental hop products. Aura is dry hopped with Citra, Citra Cryo, and Citra Spectrum. We also use experimental hop oils to create an even more intense dry hopped aroma.

Merry Dankster - Hazy DIPA
Drop Date: 4/15/2022 / Price: $21/4pack / ABV: 8.2%
Out just in time for 420, Merry Dankster is our dankest offering in a hazy DIPA. Brewed with Columbus, Simcoe, Vic Secret, and Motueka, these distinctive hops produce a powerful citrus, white wine, stone fruit, and pine needle profile.

Join us and our best buds Alvarado Street at Roscoe's on Wednesday, 4/20 from 4-8pm for a 420 Joint Celebration!

They'll be pouring Double Dank Shake and Triple Dank Shark, plus more Great Notion 420 beers for the dankest celebration of 2022!

More sweet deets on Triple Dank Shark: First there was Dank Shake, then we made Double Dank Shake, but that wasn’t enough, so we brewed Triple Dank Shark. Party Wave Dave returns for another collaboration with Alvarado Street Brewery. Dave, or Dauv, even lends his likeness on the half man, half shark can label. This hazy Triple IPA gets things started with Pilsner malt, Oats, Wheat, and some Carafoam in the malt bill. For a beer this huge, we needed to bring out the big guns, so we boiled Columbus hops to lay down some bitterness to contrast the sweetness in our Triple IPA. Strata, Galaxy, and Citra hops are used in the whirlpool to start building the aromatic profile. These three hops are repeated again in the dry hop of the beer along with the addition of Nelson Sauvin. The results make for a well balanced beer that has all the dankness you would expect with plenty of citrus and tropical notes. The deceptive 10% ABV keeps this party moving.

Bicycle Day
Drop Date: 4/18/2022 on the app
Price: $24/4pack
ABV: 7.5%
Concept: Bicycle Day celebrates new ideas of what a beer can be. Overload your senses with this new fruited sour that appears one way, tastes another, and smells different from what you might expect. We brewed a sour base beer that finishes with a mid range ABV. Mosaic hops were used only in the whirlpool to keep bitterness out of the finished beer. After fermentation, we added a significant amount of peach, pineapple, apricot, and tangerine to create an awesome citrus and stone fruit flavor. The aroma is intentionally different so you should notice a very different mixed berry aroma. Finally, we had to have some more fun with this beer, so we changed the color to a bright emerald green. The end result is a refreshing sour beer that challenges the ideas of traditional beer.

This beer also drops with a 16oz Willi Becher glass featuring original @chad.w.eaton label art ($12) and a 5-Panel Trucker Otto Hat ($28) both featuring its can art.

Baked and Stuffed (Berry Danish)
Drop Date: 4/20/2022 on the app
Price: $27/4pack
ABV: 6%
Concept: While we kept the name the same for our annual 4/20 collaboration with Claim 52 Brewing from Eugene, the rest of the recipe is a completely different approach. The ideas for the GN side of the double batch collaboration were all over the place - in the end we decided to go with a smoothie that has the flavors of a berry Danish. Claim 52 will also be doing a completely separate smoothie in Eugene for the big week. Baked and Stuffed starts out as a simple sour beer made with Pilsner malt and some Mosaic hops added to the whirlpool. Our base beer begins with a high ABV that later on will be diluted with fruit for a lower ABV of 6%. Once the yeast is done fermenting the sour beer, our cellar team gets busy with adding the blueberry and blackberry purees. After we reach the body and viscosity we are after for our smoothies, the beer is flavored with graham cracker, cheesecake, and cake batter.

Let's Talk Tropics - Hazy DIPA
$7/13oz pour (8.7% ABV)
We are always looking for new yeast and hop strains to experiement with. Tropics is a new yeast that produces some strong guava and passion fruit aromas with its bio-transformative features that convert odorless thiol precursors into free thiols that produce very tropical compounds. The beer is dry hopped with Citra and Nectaron. We took it a step further and added Strata and Eldorado Hop Hashes.










A big congratulations to our brewing teams at Alberta and NW, who brought home 2 gold medals and a silver medal from the Oregon Beer Awards! Here's the beers that brought us some extra shiny cheers:
Gold - Synesthesia, Specialty India Pale Ale.
Gold - Love & Ritual, Hazy or Juicy India Pale Ale.
Silver - Yeti Sno Ball Fight, Pastry or Dessert Beer.
