GN sells a ton of schwag out of their brewpub, so this is no surprise to see. I'm sure it will sell well.

That's not the case at places like Allagash and Bissell Brothers?

    LUL

gn fanboys defending a Pom Pom that says "Double Stack" in huge lettering across it. Is no one else registering the cringe?

I'm certainly not a Grape Lotion fanboy, but those type of hats are popular around here, and several breweries in my town alone sell them. It's just another piece of brewery merch. Shrug.

I guess not. This hardly seems like the most egregious piece of merch announced this week. If that makes me a GN fanboy defending it in your eyes, so be it. I’m not planning to buy it, but I find it hard to get worked up about a Double Stack Pom like you, I guess.

I cringe but for other reasons. I am yet you have a GN beer that's been worth my while, but I really don't see why this beanie is so terrible I mean, it's functional and if you're ready to be a walking billboard and wear a brewery t-shirt or hoodie, this isn't so far off. At least they haven't gone the way of some of my favorite bands and released socks ( yes, socks) , thongs (yes, thongs), coffins (yes, coffins),action figures and Christmas tree ornaments

I see nothing wrong with the beanie. I'm currently wearing my Ft. George beanie to stay warm in my basement. Or toque or whatever they're called.

Not cringing over here. I live in the mountains. Beanies are warm, I like Great Notion Brewing, I would gladly sport this!

AleSmith in San Diego used to have Horny Devil-branded thongs in their merch department.

Or were they Lil Devil-branded? Can't remember.

No coffins or action figures, tho.

Anyone wanting BA Double stack most likely since it's probably going to be part of a box set.

Which is my main issue with this whole thing when companies do this. No problem at all with the hat itself (like many have mentioned, a lot of breweries in this area offer something similar), but they're obviously just trying to force their customers to buy merch that they wouldn't normally buy. It's an age old business tactic that understandably is quite frustrating to a lot of folks. Now if there's the option to buy every item separately, but you get a discount if you buy the 'package' then that would be awesome. However, going that route only helps their customers not their bottom line so I doubt that's going to be the case.

Agreed, but like you, I don't see this happening.

My guess is that the ONLY way you can get the beanie and glasses, is if you buy the "package."

I get the marketing aspect of all this and that's fine, GN can go ahead and charge whatever they think they can get for this. I'm sure part of the justification for the price tag will be the special schwag that's included in each box.

I won't be participating in the upcoming feeding frenzy when they do the release, so it's all the same to me.
