Love to hear updates on the current line situation starting late Friday night. This would surely help those (locals: Oregon & Washington State) considering this release.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine reselling this so-called gift set. I guess everyone has a price....ha.

I really do hope that you're right and I'm wrong. However, my impression is the opposite of yours. Folks who are just interested in obtaining a fun new beer to taste, generally aren't willing to stand in line for hours to get a couple bottles of beer. However, if you think you can sell it for $600 or $700 a bottle, or trade it for multiple bottles of kbbs and/or ba Abraxas... Then you probably would be.

    Tomorrow should be interesting.

I don't know a single person in my beer loving friend group who would be willing stand in line for hours and spend $60 on a beer that's all but guaranteed to be inferior (potentially significantly so) to Fremont, Deschutes, Fort George and Alesong's barrel aged options.

This type of release is absolutely targeting the trading crowd.

C'mon PDX peeps, do a drive by! We wanna see pics of the shitshow, without actually being at risk of being infected by it.

Can't help ya. I'll be out looking for Coconut B-Bomb tomorrow.

I am confident that Bourbon Barrel Double Stack is not better than Coconut B-Bomb.

Are you saying our presumptions might be misplaced?

Ben's Bottleshop in Vancouver currently has both varients on tap. Really enjoyed the Coconut version.

Belmont Station had both in bottles.

    Same here.
I think the Fremont tap takeover at Arch Bridge is the place to be today.

    From Great Notion:

If you are here for the BBDS release you must physically be in line at 8am to receive a ticket. If you’re not in your spot in line when the tickets come to you, you’ll have to try your luck at the back of the line.
The line is about 200 people deep right now (6:30am). #achairisnotaperson

I guess this means I couldn't get an extra ticket if I had gone wearing my old Fremont Phantom Chair t-shirt.

Excited to see updates though ... from afar.

Well, we do have to give them props for putting it on tap within a couple of days of the release. At least gives us internet shittalkers a chance to weigh in quickly!

    Ouch ouch ouch.

Was planning on running by the facility before going to work, but don't see the point now. If the line was around 200 at 630, I would assume it's pretty close to 500 now (or longer). Sounds like an area of town to avoid at this point.

Agreed, but remember... "rare" has a special flavor all it's own (for some people at least).

True, but "rare" is lke diacetyl. There are cases where tiny quantities are a positive attribute (e.g. Fuller's ESB), but too much destroys the beer.

I love all the untappd reviews. Nobody has had it, yet just about everyone gives it 5 stars regardless.

It's that rareness flavor mentioned before that they're sensing. It really is a special, unique, amazing flavor. My understanding is that shitlords are especially appreciative and sensitive to it's subtle nuances.

This is so dumb and yet utterly predictable at the same time. I might check this out on draft, but I am not overly optimistic.
