Not DIPAs but in terms of readily available MA IPAs, I'm a fan of Greenhead by Newburyport and Flower Child by CBC. If you get them fresh they hold there own with some of the best.

Don't sleep on Brewmaster Jack. Ambrewsia is awesome. The single hop series was interesting at it's worst and incredible at it's best. Very, very good beers that fly under the radar. Stoneface has been my recent go to for easy to get hoppiness.

Since you seem to be speaking in absolutes and not your opinion, I would say you are completely wrong that Double Jack, Ruination, Double Trouble and Sucks are not excellent.

Sorry, yes all these beers are just as excellent as HF Double Galaxy, TH Julius, Trillium Mettle and Heady.

No offense, but I honestly don't get the point of your question in light of this response. You identified Dirt Wolf as beer you're happy to be able to find locally and asked for other suggestions. All of those beers fit the bill. Are they as good as Heady? I certainly don't think so and many (if not most) feel the same way. But are they excellent shelf IPA/DIPAs to enjoy when you're not in Vermont? Absolutely. If your question is what beers are as good as Heady but sitting on the shelves of my local, the answer is probably "None." If you're looking for an "excellent DIPA I can find fresh without a lot if trouble," then at least some of those options should fit the bill.

I see fresh Sucks all the time. The only thing that stops me from buying it regularly is the format. Would love to see it come back to six packs, even if just for the winter.

Some of my favorite DIPAs that are relatively easy to get (some have been mentioned already):

    Dogfish 90 minute (my go-to)
    Wachusett Larry
    Sixpoint Resin
    Founders Double Trouble
    Firestone Union Jack
Jack's Abby Kiwi Rising and Mass Rising (IPLs)

To the OP, have you tried Proclamation Tendril? Its only on tap at the moment but looks to be available, I believe in cans, later this year. Of course, you can get growlers at the brewery. You might also enjoy Proclamation Derivative, an APA now available in bottles (bombers). I think both are outstanding.

I am surprised to see how available Night Shift is getting lately. Morph has been dialed in lately and not super tough to find in stores. Plus brewery always seems to have it. In metro Boston, Everett I know, and can be a pain in the ass to get to. But they have a parking lot. And good hours.

+1 on Justin42's recommendation of Mass Rising. Framingham's not that far away! I drive an hour and a half from Keene every month or so to fill my cooler.

Is Stoneface available in RI/SE MA? The Stoneface IPA is the hands-down best IPA I've tried for the first time this year.

When you are able to find a well kept, fresh bottle of Lil Sumpin Sumpin it's kind of really awesome. I don't find this very often.
