Great Rhythm and Amherst Brewing

Great Rhythm opened their new brewery over the summer in Portsmouth by the West end of town (outside of downtown). At launch they also offered several new beers (IPA, Double IPA, and others). Currently I am not aware if they are distributing but they sell four pack 16oz cans of their beers at their brewery.

Can't comment on Amherst unfortunately.

 

Not sure if ABC distributes but they are making some seriously delicious stuff lately. Was just there over the weekend for UMass homecoming and they had Juliette and Jess cans. Not in the area enough to know if they distribute locally unfortunately. Would be nice to see them make their way east.

Great Rhythm definitely distributes to at least the southern NH bottle shops (i.e. Bert's), although I've only seen Resonation (which is fine, because it's excellent). I've never seen their stuff in MA so I'm guessing not yet.

 

I don't believe GR distributes their newer stuff. They are pretty small and batches of the new stuff have run around 50 cases or so, which they sell out of the brewery.

 

Amherst distributes but just barely. I think Springfield is as far as it gets. There's shops in Hadley that get it too.

 

Great Rhythm only distributes the stuff they were contract brewing before (Resonation Pale Ale, etc.).

 

I was at Great Rhythm a couple weeks ago and was really, really impressed. I had pours of Sticky, Squeeze and Hi-Fi and brought home a mixed case of Squeeze and Hi-Fi. I think they released cans of Sticky and something wet-hopped this past weekend - I'm trying to convince myself that I don't really need to make the two hour drive over to get them. Because, sadly, I don't think they're distributing them, at least not out my way, not that I've seen.

 

Buddy of mine shipped me some Great Rhythm Squeeze and Hi Fi he picked up at GR brewery last week. Just finished a Squeeze. Good beer, orange aroma lasted all way thru, nice hop bitterness. Wouldn't put it up there with the top tier NE IPAs but very drinkable.
