I don't find that Squeeze label to be all that similar to Julius apart from it being orange. I'd be most likely to mistake their labels for Monkish.

As @kool-aid may have been alluding too, they just had a bunch of new fermenters delivered (per their social media), which may have been the reason for them not running when the OP visited.

Secondly, I’m almost positive that the Squeeze cans were out prior to the current iteration of the Julius label design. I believe TH was still doing the round sticker with the oranges at the time, so this wasn’t a straight copy cat.

Being from the NH seacoast, not every brewery is going to blow you away, but these guys seem to fill a niche at least. Garrison and Deciduous probably put out the best NE IPAs, but they’re a bit outside of Portsmouth. GR has a nice tap room, but I wish they could have a nice little patio on the river. Probably not possible because of liability/cost, and likely the same explanation about fill pours. I’d think they’d offer them if they could.

All the more reason to visit Stoneface. I'll take their IPAs over the other two, great tap tasting room with samplers, full pours, a full kitchen, and outdoor seating.

I don’t need to be blowing smoke here. Criticism can be constructive in most businesses but apparently not in craft beer.

I don’t have the time or $ to give every brewery 5 chances (even moreso @ beer store retail). It’s a competitive market, step up or customers will move on to something else.

Obviously I cared enough to post re this brewery, & many of the views are negative. So the problem isn’t with me, it’s with Great Rhythm.

Big miss on my part. Stoneface should have absolutely been included in my prior comment. Great brewery, and even better people that run it. A great experience if you’re looking for a brew pub and are probably the most well rounded/consistent brewery in the seacoast area (IPAs, Porters, Berliners, RIS, etc).

Calling something a joke because you didn't like it is now constructive criticism? Wow, that would have gotten me reamed in art class critiques. Especially considering that one visit is equal to taking a short look at a painting or photo and quickly declaring it crap.

There have also been several positive responses about the brewery, which says to me that it's up to the perspective of the consumer and what they experience individually- not that it's a brewery problem, per se. And there's also a big difference between returning again and comparing two visits, as opposed to five (which happens to be the amount that I've visited, and never had a problem like the one you've described.)

Not having enough beers on for a day is certainly an issue- for that day. I've experienced that at many a brewery and have never once snarked at an employee about it. I've just made a note to return and try more if I can, or maybe find a draft around town later on. I've also had ACTUAL shitty service at brewery bars with rude treatment for no good reason and being outright ignored by servers to the point of wanting to leave entirely. That doesn't sound like what you experienced whatsoever. Maybe we just have very different standards, but I don't think Great Rhythm is laughable or all that bad. I think they're starting up with some real potential, better than your average new brewery but not in that upper tier yet. However, they could certainly get there and I don't think that's a joke.

Stoneface's new space is really great. Their service is on point, the drafts are amazing, and the food is darn good too. I love that their IPA is readily found in the region in many types of bars- I think of it like the Fiddlehead IPA of New Hampshire, and that's a good thing. The last batch of Full Clip cans I brought home were stellar. It's great to see them progress successfully- I had visited the old space a few times and they've improved by leaps and bounds since then.

Originally named for Julius Erving. But orange julius fits as well.

Have to agree with @kool-aid, the moment you wrote "seems like a joke of a brewery" it moved on from any chance of being called constructive criticism. You downright denigrated the brewery

On the second bolded excerpt, that's not remotely true. In fact, it's false. Two posters were negative and six were either indifferent or faintly positive.

Been there a few times, never had a bad experience. Their beers are decent, a couple are really good.

It looks like you went on a Sunday? If so, they were definitely out of beer. That's not your problem, obviously, but it's something to be considered.

Had it draft recently and it was great. I don't care about the can. Big boys and girls can tell the difference

Yea that was my point (conveyed poorly) — everyone is copying and borrowing branding — who cares as long as the beer is good.

I again find it completely inexplicable that the bartender wasn't too keen on this dude.

It’s an opinion, on a beer website. BFD if he called it a joke. And if the best reviews are “faintly positive”, in the current beer environment, that IS a joke.

I never took issue with his/her opinion. I took issue with his/her lying twice in the course of attempting to portray it as "constructive criticism" rather then what it was, a simple bad review of a brewery with nothing provided for what they can do better.
