$15 a bottle LOL, LOL, LOL... you get the point. Just because they dip a bottle in wax means they can charge a ridiculous price for a run of the mill Russian Imperial Stout. Oh yeah! and it's a limited release.

I kind of agree with everyone on here lol.

Being that there has never been a previous release or tapping of this beer, I do feel that GSB is kind of jumping on the limited release RIS bandwagon that more notable and established breweries have been doing for a number of years now. That being said, it could be an awesome RIS. I wish I could've made it out there to try some and decide if it was worth a purchase or not. As for price, well like I said, I'd have to try it. Could be worth it. I've shelled out $30 for Black Tuesday because I enjoyed it so much, so who knows?

I went and picked up a bottle. The first thing I thought when I saw the label and wax seal was Three Floyds Dark Lord. The price is high, but I like their core beers and if it turns out to be a winner I'll likely look at it as a indulgence I didn't regret. They did have pours at the tap room for $6, so tickers could have tried it cheap.

Since it released yesterday, did you try it and not like it? I'm trying to get the "run of the mill Russian Imperial Stout" part. I plan on cracking my bottle for the Superbowl.

Is it barrel aged by any chance? Was there a bottle purchase limit? Thx.

Like I said, it reminded me of Dark Lord from Three Floyds when I saw the bottles.

I tried it at the brewery and like I said it was decent. The thing that is annoying, and I don't just mean with Great South Bay is a lot of breweries do the wax dipping limited release and jack up the price. I think $10-$12 would be a fair price.

$600.00 a year? The should change their name to Barnum Brewing. Their slogan could be "Beer made every day for ____________ born every minute"
