Having never attended, what are the odds of scalping day of? I see a lot of iso requests for them online but none ft or fore sale. Willing to pay above face obviously.

Last year I had a hard time selling my extra ticket the night before the fest.
That being said I have never sold my extras for me face value.
There is usually people with extra tickets waiting in line day of fest

A few years ago, with a little patience you stood a pretty good chance of getting a ticket outside the gate the day of the event. Last year it got markedly more difficult, with very few tickets available and most of those going for well above face. This year it seems like getting a ticket day of may be a serious challenge.

Just curious if anyone has anything on what is going down on Great Taste Eve? Info seems to be scarce...

A little info in this thread. The Isthmus usually puts together a guide towards the end of July but I don't see one yet.

Alright, the program has been out for 24 hours and no one has posted here? Everyone just migrated to the GT Eve thread?

What's everyone looking forward to? Any special releases or new breweries you are planning on trying?

Too many things to name: Idiot Farm from Karben4 and their whole 80's arcade setup sounds fun. Bells sounds like it'll have some interesting beers on. Pipeworks is one I'm definitely stopping at. Also curious about trying Jolly Pumpkin's offerings. Fat Heads Head Hunter.

Would like to also try to concentrate on trying offerings from smaller, lesser known breweries that maybe I can't get in WI (or MN or IL) or even just ones I just haven't heard of in general.

Hope the crowd is cool and the weather is pleasant. Our local beer tasting has turned into a college kid frat party / local townie drunken mess of people just looking for a reason to drink and has ceased to be fun. Really looking forward to this and hope it lives up to all the good stuff I've heard about this tasting.

I think the planning needed to get tickets cuts back on the amount of townie/frat kid element. I am always amazed at the number of people packed in a relatively small space drinking that there aren't more problems. This year should be even better because they have opened up part of the hill so there will be more space.

I was really impressed with Off Color and Solemn Oath last year. I want to check out Thirsty Pagan this year. Also if you don't know, you cannot miss the real ale tent. You could spend the whole fest there and leave happy.

This was my first time at the Great Taste. Had a plan with all the special releases I wanted to try. Ended up really only doing Central Waters and Lakefront special releases and drinking way too much. I pretty much always had a beer in my hand. Even had a beer runner when I was in line for the bathroom. I don't remember parts of the fest, and even found a video of me dancing like a fool, which I don't remember doing. I was a total amateur.
