    Let's go w math...

Cost to Drive-In to get Tickets - $50+
    Tickets - $120
    Hotel Downtown Friday & Saturday w. Taxes - $450 - $500
    Parking @Downtown Hotel - $50
    Cost to Drive-In - $50+

    Total before Meals/Speading - $720 - $770
$250 - $300 can easily be spent on meals & specials taps for the weekend...

The argument against that would be that there is no need to stay downtown. Which would cut your $450-500 down to $200-250 and completely eliminate your parking cost.

I can understand your numbers for the other costs, but could argue there are cheaper ways to do all of it. (Lottery/hotel choice eliminating breakfast cost/skipping (or being reasonable at) Great Taste Eve events)

So yes, it could be $1000 for a couple, but it can be done for much less.

(The $300-400 for an in town couple is also highly dependent on someone going out to Great Taste Eve events and drinking/eating a lot.)

    LOL
Cost to get tickets - 120 + Postage
Hotel Two Nights - 175 (already booked)
    Gas 50
    Meals -200 (generous)
    Cabs 1 dollar each way

Im looking at 5-600 total. I get your numbers but you assume the most expensive way possible

You know what guy - I hope you enjoy the taste and they increase the price of the tickets so they are always available at the door, lets say $500, maybe $1000 each. Cut the cost any way you want but if you have to argue about ways to make a festival cheaper, your just not getting the point.

Everyone has that moment where they look at what this craft beer thing has become and it starts to sink in...

Hey man, you should spend less money and not live your weekend to the way that maximizes your own standard of fun. Boo fun! Boo standards!

Any of you guys know where the best hotel to stay is with the best bottle shares? I've typically only have stayed one night after the event, but am considering coming in on Friday to take part in all the festivities.

Skip the hotel bottle shares. Bring a bike and cruise around Madison to any number of awesome tap takeovers that Friday.

Yup I know. The Isthmus usually keeps a running list of each event as well. I was just hoping someone had some good rumors.
