Mail order usually takes 6 weeks or better.

Website says 6-8 weeks, that's been about right in the past.

Some people get lucky and are able to purchase their tickets via the lottery every year. Some people are not so lucky. Last year I was declined tickets and received my check back in my SASE...which is when I vowed to never do the lottery ever again!

I bought 2 tickets for face value the day of the fest outside the gates a little after 1 PM...and there were at least 4 or 5 other people still selling tickets at that time. Also, the closer we get to Aug. the more people you'll see trying to sell their tickets online. GTMW has a FB page now, so between this site and FB I can almost guarantee you can find someone to buy from between now and the date of the fest.

My friend's check was cashed yesterday. Start watching your checking account if you went the ticket lottery route.

I have felt your pain, brother! But fear not...as the days get closer to the Taste keep an eye on craigslist and this site under the Beer Tickets forum and you should be able to find someone selling. GTMW has their own FB page now, so I'd imagine a lot of buying and selling would occur there as well.

And if all else fails just come up to Madison that weekend and buy your ticket right outside the gate the day of the fest.

I guess I can stop checking my bank account. Bummer. :slight_frown:
Still flying in for the weekend and hoping to score a pair for me and my wife.
If not, I'll enjoy the local beer scene, hit up The Grumpy Troll, the mustard museum and all will be ok.

Just an FYI the Mustard Museum moved to Middleton, it's no longer in Mt Horeb. Not sure if you knew. Enjoy the Grumpy Troll!

Haha..yes, thank you. I did make it sound like they were nearby, didn't I.
I have been to both locations but I do appreciate this info regardless.

I'm willing to bet you'll get the tickets you desire either before the fest or that very weekend. Make sure to check out the FB page for the Great Taste as time draws closer to Aug. People will probably use it as an outlet for selling.

New Glarus isn't too far away from Madison and in addition to the brewery the town itself is supposed to be pretty awesome. And have you ever been to The House On The Rock in Spring Green? It is the ultimate roadside attraction.

Thanks Chrixsus. Our "locals" who have helped in the past could not wait in line for tix, so just some added stress before the travels, but I am also confident we can land a pair before the event or outside in line. We have hit up New Glarus (the old location and their incredible new space), but thanks for the tip on The House On The Rock. Have not checked that place out, but will look it up now. Cheers!

Damn. I've been checking my bank all week to see if my check cashed but if it hasn't by now and people are already getting their checks back, I guess I'm screwed.:slight_frown:

My check was cashed like 2 or 3 weeks ago. Still haven't gotten any tickets though.

I got my check back on Saturday. First time in 4 years I have missed out on lottery tickets. Still going to the Taste, just not able to bring more out of state friends this year.
