Since the forum change I've felt that the trading community has been slightly different and I'm not all sure why though. Well, 3rdto1st as well as other recent traders changed this for me. I was looking to do a locals for locals trade just for fun and to get away from trading away all the hard to find beers I've gotten lately. He hit a home run with this one. Packaging was INSANE as well as hitting a bunch of wants. He sent it in a 3 cubic foot Uhaul box full of packaging peanuts! Cheers and hope everyone is getting to know these awesome new traders!
I'm glad everything got there safe, I had an interesting time working with just some styles. You said your SO wanted Julian Cherry Bomb, and as such, I hope the inclusion keeps her off your back. I can be accused of overpacking, and I'm fine with that so long as a bottle never breaks. Lookin forward to your box tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the brews and think of CA if you ever want to set up another locals trade, you've been a great trader as well.
Time to turn this around. Got the box from Erik today, and its fantastic. He hit some wants, introduced me to some new beers, and even sent me a beer I havent had since I was in college. Note, that Parabola was not part of the trade lol, using this as the same pic as for the hauls thread.
Glad it all arrived alright! And I'm guessing the college beer was the Abita? The Coffee House Stout isn't what it was when it was released at all but still a solid Milk Stout. I also tried me best to avoid the hops. Someone from Southern Ca. who doesn't like hops? Whaaaaaa???
Nah, the college beer was the Brooklyn. Interesting to hear about the Coffee House, I'll be sure to drink it soon. I got into craft beer at college in upstate NY, so thats part of why I like malt over hops. The Breakfast Stout was a big want since I just homebrewed a clone. Vampire slayer and the oatmeal stout look fantastic as well. If I don't hit you up before you want more, feel free to hit me up for more locals. TL;DR - He's a great trader.
Good stuff smutty Baltic Porter is a great under appreciated beer. And you can never go wrong with a speedways stout or a hop rod rye
