Going on a business trip to title town next week. Can someone point me in the right direction as to great bars/distro to have while in Green Bay.. Thanks in advance--
Being a Bears fan, just thinking about Green Bay gives me the hives but a quick search pulled up the following threads which should provide some help. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/green-bay-recommendations.128806/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/green-bay-where-to-buy.72619/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/in-green-bay-for-today-only-tips.51892/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/craft-beer-in-green-bay.22359/
When in Green Bay I always recommend Ridgeview to pick up bottles. Chris and his staff are amazing and always welcome you with a hello. You can buy anything in the store by the bottle and if you grab 6 or more you get a 10% discount. Huge WI beer selection as well. As for bars if you are not huge on the atmosphere I recommend Ned Kelly's as they have half off all beer during happy hour and this includes their cellar list. Also, Hagameister Park has a large selection. My personal favorite is Titletown Brewery. Always changing beers and their Green 19 is a solid IPA. They also usually have to beers on the hand pump as well. Cheers!
Hinterland is a brewery my wife and I head to whenever we are near Green Bay. It is a nicer place compared to other brewpubs, the food is higher end and pricey but excellent. We usually will get a couple of appetizers like the cheese and charcuterie while downing a couple of beers. Titletown Brewery, which is more bar/pub like, is right across the street.
echo this but add that the Dark Helmet Schwarzbier at Titletown is also very good. my personal favorite there.
Titletown, IMHO, is the best brewpub in the state. Solid, affordable food and some excellent beer. Green 19 is one of the best IPAs brewed in state. Their one hop wonder series is usually awesome, always interesting. I stop by nearly every time in Green Bay. Hinterland has an upstairs lounge with cheaper food than their restaurant, but rarely has anything on tap that isn't readily available in bottles at stores.
