Arriving tomorrow for 5 days. Any suggestions for solid craft offerings either on tap or store (stuff I can't get in Cali). Food help would be appreciated too. Flying into MKE. Looks to be under a 2 hour drive, yes? Thanks in advance.
For stores, try Ridgeview Liquors. They were very heplfull when my wife went. She was able to get me a great assortment of New Glarus and other Wisconsin only beers. http://ridgeviewliquor.com/
Ridgeview and Titletown are my two stops in town. Green Bay really isn't much of a craft beer town. Woodman's also has the biggest selection for beer.
If you have any extra time on the drive from MKE to Green Bay I highly suggest taking a short detour and hitting this place up- http://silvercreekbrewing.com/Silver_Creek/Home.html . Very cool place tucked down on the edge of a river with some great beer.
check out lorelei inn on webster, past the hospitals, close enough proximity to hinterland and titletown. while both breweries have great offerings of their own beer (luna stout at hinterland and hopasauras rex at titletown), lorelei is a small, dark, cozy laid back spot with great food and a great selection of imports and craft. the other week when i stopped in they had founders imp stout, porter and dirty bastard, hop stoopid and central waters peruvian morning and bourbon barrel stout (which i thought was better than this years kbs...but will save that for another thread) among others. check it out, you wont be dissappointed. dave's (owner) trying to get a jump on craft beers there. check out vintage downtown too.
unlikely, unless you're a regular customer. that said.. they had Central Waters Illumination on tap as of yesterday (growlers to go). and have plenty of CW BBBW and Peruvian Morning on the floor.
