Am I harping on an old gig?.......maybe.... But as an elementary school teacher I'm constantly telling my students about how words can't be taken back once they are out there.....especially in Internet form!

Because I was bored at work. Here is the breakdown on what you will get. The $ I listed is a guess based on what they have already released in the past and I adjusted a bit for size differences and style. I could be very wrong on these. Looks like there is $250 worth of beer & merch with the added benefit of discounts that will vary based on each member's usage.

    · 3 Sauvage bottles (750mL) $20 each $60
    · 2 Wood Parade bottles (750mL) $18 each $36
    · 2 Webb's City Cellar bottles (500mL) $12 each $24
    · 2 Saison de Banc Vert bottles (500mL) $11 each $22
    · 2 Saison de Banc Noir bottles (500mL) $11 each $22
    · 2 Brett Conditioned Saison de Banc Vert bottles (500mL) $8 each $16
    · 2 Brett Conditioned Saison de Banc Noir bottles (500mL) $8 each $16
    · 2 Wine Barrel Aged Brett Conditioned Saison de Banc Vert (500mL) $11 each $22
    · 2 Wine Barrel Aged Brett Conditioned Saison de Banc Noir (500mL) $11 each $22
    · 10% off tasting room purchases (NOT INCLUDING BOTTLES) (vary by person)
    · 25% all ticketed festivals hosted by Green Bench Brewing (vary by person)
    · Member's Only 10.2 oz Sauvage Club Stemware $10

They are not really hiding anything here. If you enjoy what they've put out so far from this line, you'll probably benefit from having this membership.

The only exclusive items are the Sauvage 750ml bottles, the glass and the discounts. The 16 other bottles appear to be the beers being currently produced / distro'd.

Going to pass. Don't love saisons and almost all of this is stuff I can get if I want it individually.

Great breakdown for those of us who are too busy drinking to math. Thanks!

If you dig green bench it seems like a good price. Looking at $10.50 a bottle + a glass. These bottles aren't in high demand though, you can still buy most of the stuff they've released at the brewery. If you were going to buy these all anyway it's a good deal but if you'd like to pick and choose you'll be able to do so for everything except the 750ml sauvage bottles it seems. But you can get those in 500ml outside of the club.

If I was local I'd consider it, but I didn't really enjoy their last bottle, the Wild Oak Collab, or their foudre day bottles that much. I absolutely love their BA sour stout though, it's still delicious and still available.

They seem to be right on the cusp of making great brett beer but just not quite there yet. I haven't had one yet that I've liked more than Surette or Vielle. They are a bit cheaper though, and still solid.

Is anyone in the Green Bench area available to trustee for a BA on the east coast of FL?

They can make some great beer but Khris chooses to brew what he wants instead of what people are wanting a lot of times. He does a lot of funky saisons but those aren't very popular. I can enjoy a good one but if it's anything less than excellent I don't really enjoy them very much because it's not my style so I refrain from picking up their bottles.

The sour stout was pretty good I wasn't impressed as others. GB likes to do subtle flavor with those sorts of things and I want in my face flavor explosion. The Manatee stout was good as well. In my perfect world they would cut back on all the non-sour farmhouse ales then get a good IPA for growlers and perfect the surrealist receipe and I would be there a lot. Until then it's a place I occasionally go because non of my other beer friends like anything they make and don't enjoy belgian style beers.

Yeah, its hard to live up to SARA/Hill Farmstead's funky ass saisons, they are just fuckin killer.
The closet to those have been Wild Oak funky saisons but those won't be around since Wild Oak broke up. Not like they were around much before that anyway but was hoping they would open a brewery.

I'd love nothing more than for Green Bench to start nailing that style but they just aren't there yet. It's probably pretty damn hard to do though. I like that they are trying to stand out with this style, I can't think of many other breweries up there that are going after it.

Cycle and CCB have stouts down pat, and 7venth Sun have the best berliner's around. How cool would it be to have Green Bench pumping out Sante level saisons?

Your palate just ins't sophisticated enough bro :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm kidding of course. Most of what I've had from Green Bench has been pretty subpar.

I heard it sells really well outside of Florida though! I'm not ready for subtle funk balance, I need barrel aged russian imperial stouts with kopi luwak and bootstrap molassas. I need IPAs brimming with more hops than a jackrabbit colony. I need berliners with more fruit than Wilton Manors.

Don't forget how great CCB is at Brown Ales. An underappreciated style...but if you look at the top rated English Brown Ales on BA and over half is CCB

Yeah. It would be great if a Florida brewery was doing some great funky Saisons...

I love what you guys are doing at Saint Somewhere, you've been brewing for a long time and haven't strayed from your path. That's fuckin admirable right there, you were doing open fermentation before it started to catch on in the recent years. While I've greatly enjoyed Lectio Divinia in the past, and Prairie Somewhere was fantastic, simply put none of the beers have ever been as good as Surette or Vielle let alone the amazing shit coming from Wild Oak and Sante.

Of course those crooked stave beers are nearly twice the price, and I have no idea how much Matt would be charging for his bottles since he was never an official brewery, but I'm willing to pay more for a beer that I enjoy more. If you guys start putting out the same balance of funk and tart that these other breweries have achieved then I wouldn't be surprised to see your beers selling out and even trading on the forums (which you probably don't care about, but it means your beer is extremely delicious).

That's just my opinion of course, there are probably people who disagree and think your saisons are better, it's all subjective.
