Not a fan of Talus hops used in Keep Em Coming. Immediately got that same coconut sunscreen taste I get from Sabro. Turns out Talus is daughter of Sabro.

    Bring back Sorachi Ace.

Thanks for the heads up on Talus hops. I skip any beer made with Sabro; I'll skip these, too.

NO THANKS for reminding me Sorachi Ace exists, though.

Happy to know I'm not the only person that hates Sabro, its an instant no from me any time I see an IPA with that in it. Noted about Talus hops too.

I’m all hopped out. Give me some malt, like it’s 1992

Nah, I like the way Evan, Julian from Beachwood, and Bob at Highland Park have navigated towards a lighter malt presence which puts the focus on the fruity aspects (etc.) of their chosen hops. I cornered Evan at the last LA IPA Fest and asked him about "California IPA" and that's basically how he described it. Julian was there, too. It was the highlight of my beer nerdom.

I passed on this and their newest west coast. I stopped in at Windsor on Friday before GCtoo. I grabbed too many great cans at Windsor so I decided I didn’t need anymore. Plus I still have some GC hazy cans from previous releases.

Green Cheek CM is doing a tap takeover from Other Half. Here’s the lineup...
    Mosaic Dreams
    Small Cashmere
    DDH Phantom Diamonds
    DDH Mylar Bags
    DDH Laced In Space
    DDH All Citra Everything
    Enhance Your Mind
    The Daydreamiest
They are doing flights of 4 at a time. I got 6 of the 8. Didn’t bother with the TIPA’s. DDH all Citra Everything being my favorite. All others with the exception of Phantom were all close 2nd. Phantom didn’t do anything for me. Reason for the tap takeover? Probably because of the collab with Green Cheek It’s Just Different In Person a Munich Dunkel which I will take home in a 4pk.
it’s nice to see some Other Half in SoCal. Maybe a little late in the craft ballgame? Maybe not. Still good as hell. oh yeah, GC’s smash burger is good too. Double that is. Great lunch for a cool drizzly Monday.

Definitely late to the game. If this was a few years ago I would be all over this. But given how easy it is to find someone to mule some OH here to California (and also given how substantial the drop in their quality of product has been in the past year IMO), I am very “meh” on this tap takeover.

Had nothing else better to do on a Monday. I was going to go to my local RiiP for lunch. But I can go there tomorrow. I work a 5/2 work week. 5 off. 2 on.

Sorry for going off course here, but does anyone else remember Hill Farmstead’s tap takeover at Beachwood in 2014? Now that was awesome.

So the Cheeky guys did a collab with the HpB guys and called it Timbo Pils? Is it not the same as HpB’s Timbo Pils? What’s different about the collab Pil’s? I know HpB had Timbo week full of Timbo’s. But didn’t hear about the Cheek collab. I’m confused.

I think it's their way of paying homage to both HpB and Timbo. I believe Cellarmaker and Cloudburst did the same. I snagged a couple 4-packs since I was already picking up my grain order at Windsor.

I was just there as well. Both Windsor & GC. Grabbed a 4pk of their version of TP. Some Hop Fu and Art Is Hard and a few others at Windsor’s. But at the moment I’m enjoying this magnificent pour of Street 3, Row 2. I like this even better out of the can man. Delicious!
