This is Batch 1 of Green Flash Brewing's "Silva Stout." This is described as a Black Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels and is part of their new Cellar 3 Series.

This beer was brewed in March 2013 and will be bottled on November 15, 2014. It is brewed with Golden Naked Oats, as well as Dark Crystal and Roasted Malts. It has been aging in American oak bourbon barrels for 18 months and appears to be blended back with fresh beer before it will be bottled.

This is a limited release and will come packaged in 750ml bottles and will clock in at 10.1%abv and 45ibu. No word on a actual release date or distribution details yet, so stay tuned for more news on that front.

Just making sure I am reading this right, 2015? 18 Months + Brewed in march 2013 would put this in late 2014.

That was a typo on my behalf and I am no longer able to edit my OP. It is to be bottled on Nov. 15, 2014.

Def ISO this beer. The first batch of this was amazing so if it will turn out the same, I will want this!

Very cool! I've been wanting to try the original Silva Stout, but I have been unsuccessful. I hope this shows up in my area a they are opening their brewery close by.

Assumption here, but I'm guessing they are calling it Batch #1, as it's part of a new series of beers for them - Cellar 3. But yes, Silva Stout has been brewed and bottled in the past, though was only 12oz bottles and possibly a different recipe, as you noted.

Yeah, that would make sense, seems like they're revamping their lineup and labeling, and bringing this one back as part of a new series. Would love to try it regardless.

Sounds good but how much was blended back with fresh beer? Of everything ive tried I much prefer 100% barrel aged vs blends with non BA stuff.

Batch 1 was delicious, batch 2 was meh, and whatever they've had on draft recently was pretty bad. Hopefully this is a different/better batch.

Just curious where you got the label and your information?

Label is from the TTB public database of recently approved labels. Info is direct from the label.

The label states 10 gallons fresh beer per barrel, so that's roughly 2/3 ba at 18 months, and 1/3 fresh.
