Green Flash's regular line up is great, across the board, in my opinion. Double Stout and WC IPA are about as good as you can get anywhere off the shelf. Rayon Vert, I love, too.

Date their bottles, put more of their lineup in 4-packs (put your imperials in a seasonal-ish rotation, guys!), and they're absolutely golden in my book.

of course this just turns into a GF generalized thread....

the guy said PALATE WRECKER not, RAYON VERT.

personally, i think the DOUBLE STOUT is a flippin deal. on the other hand GFIPA and Hop Head Red are stellar beers but they lost me when they went to the 4 pak at 9.99.

now PALATE WRECKER is 11.99? wtf is that? why do they even still market the bomber at all if they are gonna make it 7.99.

i tried a bottle and thought it was excellent. would love to catch this on tap or cask if possible -- this would be solid on cask at the right temperature.

GREEN FLASH, they make great beer. but they seem a little upmarket for me. are they The Bruery? or are they Lagunitas? they were in the game 3 or 4 years ago, but they seem screwy to me going to the 4 pak and upping the price. the only thing i would buy from them now is the double stout -- i know i am getting a fair price.

    Actually, the OP said,

Let this serve as a gentle reminder that crow is best when eaten while it is still warm...

It's really a shame they don't date their bottles, WCIPA and Hop Head Red are some of my favorites but I've gotten burned a couple times and am really hesitant to buy them again @ $10+/4-pack. Palate Wrecker was awesome but it seems to be sold out everywhere around here (NoVA).

I'd suggest trying the WCIPA, Imperial IPA and the Hop Head Red if your looking for hoppy stuff, just make sure you get them fresh.

I would also probably recommend staying away from the DIPA.

For me, the DIPA is by far the best thing GF makes. On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of the WCIPA, and I was not at all happy with the palate wrecker. I'm guessing the OP's palate is probably more similar to yours than mine, which tells me he should probably avoid the DIPA.

I agree with all of the above on Rayon Vert. Has the hop bite of a BPA with the nice funkiness of a saison. It's a great hybrid style beer that blew me away.

    Double Stout is awesome.

FWIW, out of all readily available double/imperials I've had, it is the one most ruined by being served cold. If you try it at a restaurant/pub and it comes out of the cooler, I promise you, you're wasting your beer if you don't let it warm. Night and day difference. I know we all know "ideal serving temperatures" but I suspect many of you are like me, in that once your beer / food are in front of you, it's "go time." Worth ordering a second beer while DS warms. What a fantastic brew!
