I had been hearing that a lot of bottles have been infected. But a lot of the people complaining about it are further east. I have a few bottles i have been saving, I just wanted to see how the local bottles have been before I continue to save them.

Please say you've tried one already?

I've tried one bottle that I got straight from brewery on release day and it was great. But these few were bought after to age a bit so no I haven't tried any of them.

Not sure if it's infected or not but I can't see this beer improving at all with age.

Pretty sure you're the first person who has said that about this beer.

Unless you were drinking the Mostra coffee version. Pretty sure Mostra saved this beer.

The coffee version was also 100% BA rather than blended with DS. That makes a huge difference.

I'm curious to see how that aged, though.

Not worth purchasing or saving sadly.

I decided to pass on purchasing any bottles so I cannot comment on them, but I did go down to check out Cellar 3 during their opening weekend and had it on tap.

I have never had a beer that was so diacetyl heavy. It was not even remotely drinkable to me. On the other hand, I thought the Mostra version was out of this world.

I would also add that I picked up some slight diacetyl in a couple of the Sours they had on as well.

I would recommend just not heading east. I had a bottle of Sour in the Rye and drove it from San Diego to Julian. Boom..... Infection

I opened a bottle lastnight that was bought in LA and bottled on 2/16. It was infected.

Pretty sure this has a Pedio infection based on what I tried this past weekend.

@patkorn - will any official word from Green Flash be forthcoming in regards to the Silva Stout infection reports?

Mike Hinkley released something on our Facebook page last week. Believe there is another thread on this site where where he says pretty much the same thing. If you feel you got a bad bottle email him. [email protected].

Ah, I didn't see it since it was a comment on a garbage Thrillist article, rather than a post unto itself (I'm a believer in Hanlon's Razor, but that doesn't seem accidental considering how active GF is on social media). For those that may have missed the statement:
