Tonight, I'd rather have:

  1. A beer brewed with familiar (to me) hops that is executed exceptionally well.

    41.2%
  2. A beer brewed with hops I have never tasted or even heard of.

    58.8%

    Hey ya'll,
What are your thoughts on Green Flash's Hop Odyssey series?
I think it is a wonderful idea, and they have been pulling it off quite well.
To me, it's a risky move as it is not a "traditional" IPA, and as such may not sell as well. You might be able to make more money brewing a "Sextuplet Imperial India Pale Black Ale", than brewing an easy drinking IPA with some specific and notable hops in mind.
I'm wondering how you folks think they are doing with this series?
We are the target market for this brew.

Love their West Coast IPA. Would be first in line for Green Flash Hop Odyssey.

One of my local bars just tapped Palate Wrecker. I haven't had that beer in about two years and look forward to drinking lots of it during happy hour. Session IPAs/Pale Ales don't do anything for me so I'm indifferent towards this year's Hop Odyssey series.

Soul Style is a great beer though so I hope to see more of that locally soon.

I have enjoyed them all, but I have a difficult time spending around $9 for a bomber under 7% and that is what most of them are. Huge fan of the company.
