One of Bellingham's leading beer bars reopens tonight after being closed for a relocation. The Green Frog is now at 1015 North State St. , Bellingham. 24 taps, mostly local/regional breweries featured, but anything can show up on tap. The new room is great, stop in next time you're up in the 'Ham! Website here: http://www.acoustictavern.com/ .
And the reopening night was a success. They didn't have all of their taps full, but still a great selection. Certainly worth a visit.
How much bigger is the new place Terry? Also, same deal as before regarding food (no kitchen, but you could bring in food from neighboring restaurants)? The original place was great, but was undeniably much too small for a place that popular. I'm not sure I like the GF so much that I want to send them a donation, but I'll certainly try to stop in for a couple of beers next time I'm in town. Cheers!
The new space is almost double the old, but it doesn't seem like like it because of where the bathrooms had to be installed. I'm not sure about the food, because they are now selling a list of Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Because they now also sell hard alcohol, they had to sell food too. All the permits and inspections came through on Friday, so that's why all the taps weren't full. There will be a Brewers Night tomorrow (3/13) featuring Big Al. The Bi-weekly brewers nights will resume on Wednesdays soon.
