Where was that? I had Fou a couple months ago. Got a buddy's wife to pick it up while in Brussels. Cost 35€.

Bottle price is very relevant when talking about trading. And sure, you can get Cantillon cheap as hell at the brewery but you sure as hell aren't going to see those bottles being traded for 20 dollar bombers unless you are willing do international trades.

 

Depends on the $20 bomber. I'm sure people would have no problem giving up fou and LPs for these crazy-hyped bullfrog beers that I will never get to try.

 

That's what it costs in beer stores or bars. At Cantillon, for onsite consumption, Fou was either 12 or 14 euro. The most expensive thing they had was 50E4N and 2006 Gueuze, both of which were all of 18 euro.

 

Beer is worth what it'll trade for; price is one indicator but that's it. Since we're talking about NC beer, Omega Point costs $20 at the brewery and usually around $25 at beer stores (though I'm sure it could be found at some stores for $20). Its worth $5 more just because I paid more for some of my Omega Point than others of my bottles that I got at the release?

 

Yep. I'm not going to argue with a trader over 5 bucks, if they want a couple locals to make it up that's fine with me.
If I pay 60 bucks for Fou and someone I'm negotiating with says it's only worth 20 since that's the brewery price then I'll just move on.

Any word on how they're ticketing the release?

I'll be in South Carolina for vacation and planning on making my first trip up to Asheville which happens to coincide with this. My plan is to eat at Wicked Weed at 11 hopefully be done by 12:30 and then walk over to Green Man and either get a ticket or stand in line. Think that will be early enough?

 

The wicked weed release can't start officially until noon since that's when NC law allows for beer sales.

 

How did Olde Hickory get around it with Omega Point, then? That was at the Crack o dawn.
