Just curious what where the other sour beers on tap after the Blueberry Berlinerweisse?

They had Maceo and Snozzberry on in that order, then back to the Blueberry.

On draft, I found the rum to be very subtle, with the wine barrel having more influence at this stage of development. I did taste some rum influence but it was far from dominating my palate. I noticed, inside the brewery, that there were a number of Rombauer barrels marked "Maceo" and was curious whether they used barrels from that same winery in which to age the Berliner Weiss they served at the release. I wondered whether both beers spent time in Rombauer Pinot Noir barrels.

Was batch 1 of Maceo also done in rum barrels?

Yes, the label description is the same on both batches. Six months in "magic" barrels and three months in rum barrels.

Yep. The people two couples in front of us got the last pour and they very graciously allowed us to try a bit.

Yeah. And at least fresh, the rum comes through really well. I don't remember it being so rum forward in the last batch I had.

Did anyone ever find out what the guest tap was? One of my friends went inside and said he didn't see anything but Green Man beers on.

On a side note. Man that color on the blueberry berliner weisse was crazy.

Briefly, there was a placard up for a Petrus beer (I think it was the Aged Pale) when they were pouring the Berliner Weisse. They took it down at some point before the Berliner kicked but I never saw anybody order it.

I ordered it, still have zero idea what it was. I thought at the time it was a Green Man beer, but it definitely could have been from Petrus instead. It was too light to be a Petrus Oud Bruin, and its been a while since I've had Petrus Aged Pale, but it could have been that. I did think it was quite good though and rated it the same as I rated Petrus Aged Pale the last time I had it, so its possible that's what it was.

Anyone know the name of the brewery that the brewer is opening in weaverville? Or when?

Last I heard he had a name picked out but wasn't announcing it until it went through a trademark search. That was from a story I read sometime May-ish.
