Nope, I definitely wasn't looking at Dweller. The two labels are similar, but they're far enough apart that I wouldn't have mixed them up. I guess its possible that I'm mixing up the price for Dweller and Holly King, but I thought they were the same price at my store. They still have some Dweller so I'll take a look when I'm there today. Everything else has decent prices, so I'm surprised that this one bottle is so far out of whack.

The price for Dweller here in the Triangle varied by a pretty decent amount. I snagged the last one at Ridgewood when I saw it marked at $11.99 but I had seen it some places for $16. They're always a little cheaper on bottles, but not usually $4 worth.

On a slightly unrelated note, I wonder when Snozz will come out, has anyone on the ground in Asheville heard anything from the Green Man folks about that? Just wondering if we're talking more like the next month or two, or more like the springtime? I also wonder if it will be the next one released or if Maceo will come next.

Did anyone try Holly King? I've seen a few bottles around and I'm wondering if it's worth the $17.99 price tag.

Yes, I have. And no, it isn't. I knew that going into it and tried it just for the hell of it, so take that for what its worth

It is a bit expensive but IMO one of best beers that they make.

Sadly, for their bottles (and not including their sours), I probably agree with this sentiment as well... Just not a huge fan of the stuff they bottle (other than the sours, which I unfortunately haven't had a chance to try but that I'm sure I'd love).

More Bootsy at Bruisin Ales, they just posted.

It ages really well. If you found it for 17.99 that is about as cheap as I have ever seen it. I think that is about what it was at the brewery maybe even cheaper. Old Ales don't get much love though, so if you are not a fan of the style to begin with then its likely you are not going to like this beer anyway. I thought the barrel treatment was really good. I bought two last year and drank one fresh and one this year and they were both very good, but time was definitely on its side!

I'm just fine with Old Ales, just didn't think Holly King was a particularly one, or a particularly good holiday beer. Though I'm not a huge fan of 'holiday beers' so I guess that could play a part. For example, while much different beers, both Holly King and Anarchy are the same style on BA. I'd take Anarchy every day and twice on Sundays over Holly King.

No argument there! Haha! I really don't know how to classify Holly King, some call it a barleywine others call it an Old Ale. I mean the store I bought it from called it a barleywine and said the brewer was there the day I bought it this year. If we are discussing quality BA barleywines. Sucaba?

Bestway in Greensboro got some Bootsy on Tuesday, but I have to imagine they're all gone by now. Went for about $22. Could be other stores around that still have one on the shelf.

I heard Bestway had a pretty good amount too.

From everything I've seen, the only stores in the state that got them were Bruisin Ales, Bestway, and Sam's Quik Shop. I definitely could be wrong though.

Had a pour of bootsy yesterday and it was amazing. Super sour with a complex finish. Drinks like a 5% abv sour and clocks in at 9% . Definitely worth checking out if you can get ahold of a bottle.

Just picked up a couple 2015 Sucaba, so now have 2014 and 2015. Haven't tried it yet though.

To bring it back on topic: I really wish Green Man would up the production on there sours a little. No idea if they have constraints on their sours because of their brewery size or what, but I'd love to try one of these and its damn near impossible

I would guess App Vintner in Asheville got some too. They are not the best with updating the new beers that come in.

Vintner said they haven't had any for a few weeks. Bruisin just said that they were out. Not sure if any other places in Asheville have bottles, would love to get at least one.
