I was passing through Austin today and picked up some Hops and Grain Greenhouse. I was thrilled to see they are now putting the date and batch number on the bottom of the can (1/28/15 batch #13). I can't seem to find any information on what this one is. H&G used to post about their new releases, but I haven't seen it in a while. Are they posting this info somewhere and I'm missing it? Their website always seems to be a batch or two behind.
From their Twitter: Amarillo, Mosaic, Meridian and Hersbrucker The newsletter has been slacking lately regarding greenhouse hops.
http://www.hopsandgrain.com/green-house-ipa/ is where they usually have it, but it hasn't been updated for this latest batch. Now that they're doing batch numbers instead of "monthly" releases, that page probably needs a bigger update.
Yeah it sounds like they will be doing at least 2 releases of it a month from now on. Which means they better start having somewhere with an updated list.
The can dating is excellent @hopsandgrain! But I know someone bought a sixer yesterday with no dates on the cans. Is it possible some cans were missed? Where did you hear this? I think they've only done two releases in a month twice and that was because one batch didn't come out in the expected month.
Does this still fly off the shelve pretty quick? I'm looking to pick up a six or maybe 2 this weekend while I'm in town. Should I go to a specific store to find it?
Pretty quickly, but not as fast as it used to. The Twin Liquors at 41st/Red River is usually a good spot to find some after the release date.
Yep. That's where I got it. They had just received the new batch and still had several cases of the last batch.
I appreciate the feedback. I'll swing by Twin Liq then prob have a drink at Draught house since I'll be right there.
They have to be producing more of this in the past two batches. Love that it is more available recently and I can drink it as my standard IPA all month!
They are making 2 batches a month so I believe they are making the same amount each batch, just twice as many batches. Also sounds like it will make it to Houston in a month or two.
