IG also mentioned a collab they did with Beer Street to be released in cans on 1/31 (brewery), so that could be the rest of the capacity...

Why all the hate? I'd give it a shot... They also have more cans coming on Friday that might be up your alley.

I don't get why people seem to be freaking out about lactose IPAs now or anything that slightly gimmicky. Its not like Greenpoint is going to stop doing normal DDH Juice bombs, they're just doing something a little different for one batch. If I didn't have so much beer at the moment I'd absolutely pick up a 4pk of this, sounds interesting.

I think it sounds really gross. I don’t hate. I’d gladly have 4oz of this but no way I’d buy a 4 pack.

I guarantee this beer will taste comparable to every other DDH lactose IPA being brewed these days. If that's not your thing that's fine, but if it's because of the doughnuts I think you're overreacting. I doubt you'll be able to taste anything remotely similar to a doughnut in this beer.

Donuts are also pretty tame compared so some of the more ridiculous adjuncts people have used like french fries, burger buns, pizza, and fried chicken. Its just starch for the mash, same as any sort of grain, although I do have to imagine the fat in the donuts is probably bad for head retention.

That's sort of what I was getting at. This is obviously Greenpoint pointing fun at the current trends and producing a beer that will probably taste like 99% of the IPAs they've canned thus far. Obviously the mouthfeel will be a bit creamier, maybe a touch of sweetness, but I'm pretty sure they're just having a laugh.

They've been consistently pushing out good to fantastic hoppy beers in cans with 0 lines that typically last ~2 weeks at the brewery AND see distro. I really don't think their doing this to attempt to jump on some trend, just a bit of fun on their part.

Their Instagram story about this beer was pretty clear that it was made in good fun/jest, and I agree that it will probably compare to the other beers they have made recently.

So.... anyone try the two new ones yet? Worth a trip there to pick some up?

I picked up one of each from Brouwerij Lane. Figured I would rather try them first before buying a whole 4-pack, even with BL's obscene prices.

Picked up both of the new beers and had a can of Publicity Stunt last night. Definitely on the very sweet end of what I'd consider a good IPA, yet still solid and juicy like their normal offerings. If it didn't say it was brewed with donuts I doubt I'd suspect anything. Knowing it was, I think you can taste it ever so slightly.

Had Publicity Stunt tonight. I was not a fan. Way too sweet with not enough else going on. Had to drain pour.

Visited Greenpoint for the first time Saturday to grab beer before heading into the city. I love the space as it was really spacious with a full kitchen.

Grabbed Maybe Someday, Incomplete Sentences and In All Fairness. All these beers are fantastic. I’ve always been hesitant to go here via car but it was honestly way easier than OH and their beers arent too far behind. Also much better prices for cans.

I will continue to say it, Greenpoint is still flying way under the radar. They are consistently putting out solid IPA offerings.

They really need to brew Synthesis again. That beer was fire.

Arguably the best way to go about it, and a much better approach than if one were to “roll the can…”
