    Hey all, I'm Michael.

Been around a bit and got into beer once I realized it didn't all taste like Bud Light. Enjoyed Yuengling, Guinness, Killian's Irish Red early on. Started getting into more craft beer when I moved to Colorado and beers like Fat Tire, SNPA, and Lagunitas IPA were on the shelves. Got into homebrewing shortly thereafter and continue to dive into learning as much as I can about beer history, processes, ingredients, etc. I enjoy the constant learning & challenges it brings. I love to try all the new beers breweries continue to put out and experiment with my own brews at home. My biggest joy comes from discussing and sharing beers with others. I like to imagine what I'd do differently if I were to brew a beer to my taste. I fully appreciate everyone's varying tastes and thoughts on beers and just enjoy the communal environment beer brings to sharing laughs, stories, good times with good friends.

    Cheers!

Hi, Michael. It's a pleasure to get to know you. You've been here long enough so that I'm sure we've interacted here in the forums during the past 13 years, and have probably given each other some Likes over time. Keep hanging around and enjoying the site.

Howdy, Have you ever tried this incantation while brewing?

“Spirits, which buy mine art I have from their confines called to enact my present fancies!”

It really gets the attention of the yeast.

Good to meet you! Consider posting some of your home brew beers on the What Beer Are You Drinking Now? thread…we’d be interested to know what you are brewing and how those beers are tasting - Cheers!

Welcome and glad you checked in from Denver. I am not a homebrewer, but my brother likes to do this occasionally, and his beers are typically good to very good as compared to a commercial brewer (been doing it for I'd say a decade).

Do you typically use Cryo hops, and can homebrewers get the non Cryo version?

I've had several commercial beers with Cryo hops listed, and just about every time I get an artificial type flavor, so I've been avoiding them since.

In either event, your planned upcoming beer sounds awesome, looking forward to an update on how it turned out for you.

    Cheers!

I haven't used them before but from all my research I'd only use them in whirlpooling and not during the boil. It'll be the first time using HopShot as well. The goal was to reduce the amount of hop mass and absorption. We'll see.
