Just got home after 3 hours there... really no more busy than the average Saturday (partially because they opened more of the brewery for the crowd. "The time is Now" big bottle sold out, but is still on draft. Everything else still available and everything on draft is great. Both doors (Canopy and Butterfly) are great, Comic Sans (the coconut thing) was crazy creamy and delicious, but it's more of a single draft rather than a 4 pack thing for me... but if you like Coconut, this is a slam dunk. The 1st Anniversary Triple IPA was good, but pretty boozy. The Noon Moon was better than I expected, worth taking one home. Great afternoon to spend at Grimm.

Different experience as compared to @cambabeer with the 1st Anniversary Triple. No booze when @jrnyc and I had it at opening. Very fruity with a lot of Nelson and Mosaic funk. A little of that savoriness that comes with Nelson, which was much appreciated, and added to my impression of the beer being beer complex without being complicated. It ranged between the juiciness that people love these days into the savoriness onto fruity with the occasional, slight dank/pine note. Rather dry, drank more like 8% in that regard.

The Time is Now is delicious. Not quite a good value in my book at $48 a magnum, but really good. Lots of peach and raspberry, really great flavor, while keeping solidly on the tart side of sour.

Comic Sans was 100% coconut to me. I dislike coconut in beer nearly as much as lactose (cheers @rozzom), so ignore this paragraph unless you also dislike coconut in beer. @RobNewton, remember that OH "sour" that was heavy Banana Boat or whatever sunscreen to you at the last meetup or maybe a little before that? Very similar experience for me, just in IPA form vs. kettle sour.

Butterfly Door was very good. Almost too smooth for what I expect for a Grimm beer, but that's a personal thing. Delicious, really vibrant nose that showed up more as it got warmer as @jrnyc, @EnthusedAboutBeer and I made bets about how long it would take before the line disappeared.

Noon Moon, to my basic palate (cheers again @rozzom), started out with the hazelnut and banana coming off as peanut butter. With some warmth, it became more Nutella-like, but I never felt like it was a banana stout. Certainly not like OH's recent editions.

Ultimately nothing disappointing about the release today. It’s cool they released 5 beers. I actually really liked the Noon Moon. It had plenty of banana and with the hazelnut tasted like pb and banana so I don’t think pb is far off

The 1st anniversary ipa is really good, but I’m not sure I like it any more than Zonk which has been great.

I really liked The Time Is Now. I find a lot of raspberry sours to be overly tart but this is very well balanced both terms of the natural tartness/funk and the added fruit. It is weird that their only sour was bottled in mags that sold out pretty quickly. Their sours are probably the thing they do the best compared their every other New York brewery.

I found Comic Sans to be what most breweries are probably going for when adding coconut to these beers. It plays well with the tropical hops flavors without being too much like pina colada, but I’m not sure what the milk sugar or marshmallow are ultimately doing.

On another note Full Frequency and Gamelan Pop are both really great sours on opposite ends of the spectrum. Gamelan Pop is so close sour ipa. The fruits pair really well together, and it shares that tart candy flavor that Hudson Valley usually has.
The rhubarb and apricot of Full Frequency seem like such natural balancing additions I’m not sure what you’d complain about (tho Untappd users still find a way).

Hit up Grimm today. 1st Anniv. was tasting really nice. No booziness I could tell. Lumen was also great. Very chill in the taproom today.

Forgot to mention I got a 4pk of Butterfly Door.

Tastes like a creamsicle without the need for lactose! Delicious!!

I could see why you would ignore Tyler and his inferior palate, would ruin street cred to be seen with him, but you should have said hi to me.

stopped in @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales yesterday and was shocked to see how many off the Anniversary beers were still for sale (sans the Sour Magnum & Comic Sans)
picked up Afterimage, the 1st Anniv. TIPA, both Door IPA's and a bottle of Noon Moon

Noon Moon is good..was hoping for a bit more banana but it's tasty just the same

I was in line for cans and had already waited about 15 minutes. Saw you guys walking out of the bathroom (not sure what that was about) and didn’t want to lose my spot.

On the beer note - Comic Sans is very interesting and flavorful but I’m glad I only got a 4 pack. It’s definitely a bit one dimensional (as expected) but well executed. I guess I was expecting a more Smooth Beats Miami vibe but that’s hard to compare brewery vs brewery and IPA vs DIPA.

Currently drinking a First Anni. It’s extremely smooth for 11% and not too boozy at this point. Reminds me of AGE actually, just less bitter. Melon absolutely dominates my palate.

However, the winner is by far and away Afterimage.

I just remembered it's nearly Rainbow Dome time, anyone recall if it has been on any kind of consistent schedule in the past?

Probably, gun to my head, my favorite Grimm beer.

I lucked into a growler fill after the meager supply of 35 cases of cans sold out. It was SPF 50: sweet and coconut forward, but not to the point of cloying. It was good, not great, but as always, interesting things from Grimm.
