Phantom Power! Our newest IPA—featuring Cashmere, Ekuanot, and Motueka hops—is hitting all the marks. Cashmere & Motueka dominate up front—juicy tropical notes of passionfruit, guava, and coconut that jump from the aroma to an intense flavor hit on the roof of the mouth. Ekuanot, with its earthy/musky characteristics, balances the fruitiness and complements the light body and dry finish of this crushable IPA. 6.5% ABV—$18/4-pk⁣

I must say I'm not a fan of sabro or cashmere hops. Coconut flavor in ipas in not my thing. Magnetic tape and matchbox lambo is getting me through this month but I wish Grimm would go back to their og recipes. Frou frou, power source, rainbow dome, capslock, vacay, awoogah, etc. Not that I don't appreciate new releases but give us some beer that made us loyal Grimm fanatics

Like Tesseract? It seems like I heard it'd be up soon...

I mean they just did Afterimage and Lambo Door both pretty recently. Those ARE the 'OG recipes.' You could also include Lumen (made recently too), Super Spruce (ditto), Color Field (ditto) and Dreamweapon (also seen in the last few months I'm almost positive).

I'd very much like to see Cloudbusting again soon but to say they're not pumping out the beer that put them on the map is flat-out not true.

It seems like they're making as much ipa as they always have, and it's tough to argue for more when there's no shortage of breweries making great ipa.

Vacay and Rainbow Dome were both sours(always down for more Rainbow Dome), but I'd recommend Lovely Sky Boat(very hoppy barrel aged sour) and Mimsy (apricot and rose petal barrel aged sour). They aren't the same, but they're definitely on par.

I very well be imagining things, but this most recent batch of Afterimage reminded me of the originals that had that little bit of candied sweetness to them in a way a lot of their Brooklyn beer hadn't.

I’d kill for the 2nd batch of Cloudbusting. What a fantastic beer that was. IIRC that was with Wa-iti and tasted like hoppy white wine.

On the other hand, for all the lager boiz out there - Maypole is incredible. It’s got this perfect lager sweetness balanced by the grassy, earthy noble hops. Grabbed some today when I stopped at the brewery, along with Phantom Power which I’m drinking now. Really not getting much coconut from the hops in case that was worrying some people like @Justonemore91. Getting a lot of grape and citrus which I am thoroughly enjoying.

And of course I grabbed some Castling - a true Grimm classic.

No I agree. Definitely that bubblegum thing going on that I hadn't tasted in a long while. And to be clear, I love the profile on all their IPAs and I think they stand out in that space in a good way, but I can't remember any IPA ever hitting me in a 'wow' way like that first run of Afterimage did.

They've done (I think) six batches of Cloudbusting? All with Southern Hemisphere hops IIRC, but all a bit different. That first batch was a howitzer of white wine and cotton candy for sure, but the last few batches have been just as strong.

it must have been the first batch. I remember getting 2 cans after checking 4 shops (remember those days?). I believe the second batch was very grape forward.

if Rainbow Dome isn't brewed this year, we riot IMO. Phantom Power is great, all Grimm single IPA and APA are great.
