Grimm Artisanal Ales (April 2016)

Hey guys, Tesseract is being kegged today/tomorrow and we hope to have Psychokinesis and Tesseract ready to ship Monday so they can arrive on shelves next week. Super excited to have these two mosaic focused hitters back. Also we have a new Flagship beer kegging today:

 

Is it just me, or did every beer bar in NYC get another keg of Afterimage this week? It's be popping up all over the place on my BeerMenus feed.

 

I was going to say the same exact thing. I cant believe its still coming up, not complaining at all.

 

I was fortunate to work/stay in the city Sun-Tues. Visited Valhalla to grab Afterimage and was not disappointed. Very good. I like Tesseract better, but this is a close 2nd for me. Only other Grimm I've had was Cloudbusting, which is unique (in a good way), but my least favorite.

Turned a coworker, who is a very casual beer drinker, into a Grimm fan. However, he was disappointed to learn how hard it is to get.

Hoping to get some Tesseract this month!

 

Makes all the stressful can-hunting seem kind of unnecessary.

 

Bruno is doing a pairing event today and tomorrow. Should be awesome -- the food there is fantastic. I know they're pouring afterimage, liquid crystal, subliminal message, and vacay.

Sorry for asking again, but any news about the Fantome collaboration? Shelton Bros are just letting it sit around in their warehouse?

 

It's possible that the hold up is due to delay in getting the label approved by the TTB. Luckily like most fantome beers it's holding up great. Just drank one yesterday and it was awesome. I did see that the wine and cheese shop in missouri (shelton brothers' favorite whale outlet) just listed a bottle release for grimm/fantome along with several cantillon and drie fonteinen bottles... so that's at least a sign it's coming soon.

 

Is Tesseract draft only this time around?

 

No it's already canned. It all goes into the same bright tank so typically the mobile canner comes on tuesday, then the kegs get filled wednesday/thursday, everything gets allocated and palletized friday and then the delivery truck picks up monday.

 

I wish I could find this in NJ, might have to make a NY trip out one day to find some.

 

I haven't heard much talk about Liquid Crystal, I had to this past weekend at Tap & Barrels 5 anniversary party and it was awesome crazy hoppy and a little saison funk to it. That beer on a nice summer day would be perfect.

 

If you liked Liquid Crystal you're going to love Neon Lights. It's made in a similar way but we refined our process a little bit. Huell Melon and Hallertau Blanc. Non sour farmhouse ale isn't really a popular style, but if we could have one thing permanently on draft at chez Grimm it would probably be this because it's so damn refreshing.

 

When is this due to be released? Draft only I presume?

kegging is today, we'll see how quickly a Union pickup can be arranged.

 

I can pick some up in my Hyundai Sonata right away! Remember driving around BK with that giant barrel in your trunk?

 

I Look forward to the beer, but that song/video Neon Lights weirded me the hell out. 1 star, wouldn't listen again!

maybe, but it's not currently on the docket. We do have some more similarly dank new offerings in the works though.
