Westside market is out. I walked in instead of reserving one and was blocked out. Fyi

Looking forward to this! I noticed you took down your Instagram post about this though. Does that mean the distributors don't have it yet?

Unrelated to the release but I was in STL a couple weeks back and a bottle shop outside the city had 4 different Grimm bottles collecting dust, including the Fantome collab. If only I was checking bags . . .

He commented on how his first Grimm beer was Bees and that all of their recent output was superior, then he justified his comment by saying he doesn't like anything sour or fruited.

True, but he started off the post by saying he passes up bottles and just buys IPAs. So it was pretty clear he was comparing it to their recent IPA offerings. The justification was for why he doesn't buy sour bottles.

After unexpectedly stumbling across Pliny bottles when traveling on business to San Jose a while back, I always make sure to bring a packable duffle and gallon ziplocs in my carry-on when traveling solo. I'll throw some of my clothes in the duffle as a carry-on and check the small suitcase with the carefully packed beer inside.

Exactly. There was nothing sour or fruited about Bees with a Buzz.

Maybe it's just me but it annoys me that they tweet every untappd check-in. It used to be a useful twitter but not it's just clouded with those check-ins. And they check in to things like Trillium and Alchemist which we can't get in NYC

So has anyone tried this batch of DN or are we all holding out until stout season?

Have you been on a subway platform lately? Not waiting till the fall/winter to crack a bottle, but I need the high for the day to be down another 10/15 degrees.

Tried it last night at AS IS. 2016 DN is very good. Lots of dark chocolate and some light smokiness on the finish. I think they used some smoke malt this year. Still thin compared to other highly regarded stouts.

No reason to get buried over it. To be honest, 98% of the time I only really drink IPAs. I dive into sours once in awhile but don't really seek after them. I hate to admit it but I do become a sucker for some pumpkin ales in the fall. That's about it. It's my palate and I do what I want with it.
